Default Win8 Preview + DDO (working) except crashes if swap screen focus

Win8 is Release Preview and not supported at this time.

I had some extensive testing with a Win7 launcher bug crashing out at 'examine data'. Details at http://forums.ddo.com/showpost.php?p...&postcount=295

Wiped and repeated on Win8 and all is working fine...

Except when I Alt+Tab or move mouse to second monitor and click something (like another webpage or move an icon around on the desktop, DDO game crashes. This crash will give an error of "dndclient has stopped working" with a close program option.

I have tested this with the same results in DirextX9 and DirectX11 with NVidia video drivers form last stable on Win7, beta Win8, and most current Win7 beta. I have also tested this with the same results as compatibility mode for WinXP, Win7 both with and without Run as Admin.

Suspect this is in the DirectX code as it only happens when logged into a char (running around boat, in quest, or standing in harbor). From Character Select screen I have no problems switching windows focus.

Note that I am testing this with DDO in Windowed Mode. Guess I should test Full Screen with Alt+Tab tomorrow...

Again, I know Win8 is not supported. I am just doing some pre-testing with the various games I am currently playing.

Edit - Should mention I don't have this issue with Civilization 5 which is also a DirectX game

I'm sure that's a Win8 thing due to the fact you can't have two fully maximized desktop applications at the same time.
