Default YAMA (Yet Another Monk Archer) - request for feedback

With the changes to displacement I've been toying with the idea of an elf monk archer build to take advantage of the dragon marks. Admittedly you lose the sneak attacks from the Helf builds and it's a bit tight fitting in the marks (forcing a Wizard level rather than the Artificer for the free extend feat). I would have liked to have fit at least improved two weapon fighting in there but didn't really see a way around it. What are your thoughts (prior lives were 11 Ranger / 8 Monk / 1 Artificer split with full UMD and search/disable so will miss that). Never mind the feat order was basically trying to see what I could fit in with the builder and didn't bother going back and optimizing them (if you have suggestions I'm all ears though so fire away)

you might consider going diplomacy over swim if you are going to use the ranger epic levels.

What's wrong with scrolling displacement on yourself with that full UMD?

Mostly for duration as a scrolled displace is a bit over 30 seconds whereas the mark would inherit the extend enhancement as well so you'd be looking at around 4, maybe 5, minutes for a mark displacement.

Regarding the diplo that's a good point. I usually pick up swim as Crucible on elite it comes in handy and I didn't really have anything else to do with the points except UMD (but wouldn't get it very high).

Thanks again for the feedback. Looking forward to more.

36 seconds for a displacement scroll with artificer dilettante. With 30 second displacement scrolls I duo'd epic lords of dust on my rogue with a monk up to death knights before a sorc joined today, really not sure the dragonmark is necessary (it's good but costs too much - can't build an archer without any melee feats in the current state of the game).

It lasts 2 minutes base or 4 minutes extended at CL:20 unless you have arcane augmentation (in which case add 12/24 seconds).

Always max out UMD if it is available, any build can get to 50% raise dead scrolls which can be enough to save a raid/quest and 70% fireshield scrolls which are amazing.

I think it will be very difficult to keep your ki up without any TWF feats. If you went 6 ranger instead of 6 fighter you would get Bow Strength, Rapid Shot, and Manyshot for free, plus ITWF (and Diehard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). You could always drop Toughness >:-D

My first monk archer was an elf for the displacement dragonmarks.

Very useful, especially in the lower levels where UMDing displacement scrolls isn't easy (and those scrolls have VERY short duration - I hate them).

After I made some displacement clickables for myself from the Shroud, I TRed into a half-elf monk archer.

It is like going to a museum and bragging about how fast you made it through. Or bragging about how fast you finished a good steak.

It seems that you spent a lot of levels in fighter just to get feats you get from 2 levels of ranger

Ftr 6 provides 4 feats; rgr 6 provides 6 vital feats (Bow STR, Rapid Shot, TWF, Precise Shot, Manyshot, ITWF) plus one blah one (Diehard). For a build as feat-starved as this one, rgr is a no-brainer (IMHO).
