Default Two things I'd like to see change... please?

As long as everyone else is putting their two cents in....

    1. Could you guys consider changing Cleric run speed? I'm sure there's a reason for making us as slow as we are, but it is so not fun. I don't need to have wings, I just want to be able to keep up with people. I don't care if it's granted at a high level. I don't even care if we're still slower... just not as freaking slow. Please.

    2. Is there any way to make Divine Might "quickenable"? Or maybe once you reach the second tier, it "casts" faster? At least make it as fast as an action boost- right now, the animation is slow as hell, and really reduces the usefulness.

I feel silly making a thread for these two things, but I'd really like to see them change.

    1. Clerics are not slower then anybody else, don't know where you got that from. You can even get wings as a pure cleric now through the ed even. If you feel you run slower then everybody else, get hasted or go get yourself some striding boots. Expeditios retreat clickies even got buffed, a 3/day clicky now gives you 15 minutes between shrines, which should be ok.

    2. True, this needs to get changed, chances are good we'll see it with the enhancement overhaul and the actual battle cleric pre, which now is not that far away anymore.

i just don't like how even when hasted, the mobs still run as fast or even faster than you >_<

and yah, the running speed really does need a bit of tuning up

    less buffing, more nerfing!!!

    1) You know I may sound crazy but I could swear Clerics move slower than most, even with the same Movement+ items as other classes. Maybe it just feels that way or something but I have a cleric right now that has 20% striding and a friend that has 15% and he seems to keep up and pass me quite frequently. Could be just me though.

    2) That animation takes far to long, it needs to function like the Divine Might spell. Quick and simple as not to waste the buff... Same could be said with action boosts too though...

Clerics have the same base run speed as everyone else.

I'd love to see a Memnir based DDO MythBusters style pic just to emphasize that :/

Are you a dwarven cleric? They have a 20 base movement speed as opposed to taller races 30 base movement speed.

You want to know where I got that from?

I got it from primarily playing Clerics since 2009. I have four Clerics, two of which also have Cleric past lives. Clerics are slower than other classes. I know you are trying to be helpful, but I'm very aware of speed boosting mechanics in game, and use them as needed.

I don't FEEL I run slower than everyone else, I do.

I did mention that I did not want wings, from which I thought could be implied that I did not want the movement speed to be increased as late as level 3 (or 4?) of an ED.

    No.

I have Halfling, Human, and Horc Clerics. Most are splashed, but I have played pure to cap.

    As everyone else? Including Monks?

I'm sorry, but Clerics do not have the same run speed as other classes.

OP's suggestions should extend to paladins as well.

No one can out run a monk...except the wraiths in the Orchard.

But look at it this way.. Your deity's power is so great it weighs you down, making you slower.

Sorry, I know that wasn't helpful.

The reason why you are likely slower than everyone else is because you didn't put many points into strength. Then, you proceeded to wear heavy armor and have a load of heavy gear in your inventory causing you to have at least medium encumberance.

    Did I get it right?

Are you comparing yourself to a class with an innate base movement speed boost? Or a class with a sprint boost? Or a class with a wing effect? That would explain it.

The only way I can keep up with a Fighter, Wizard, or Sorc on my Cleric is because I use the Epic Mire set, which has a "broken" striding boost that's slightly better than 30% (really 24% if I remember correctly) striders.

Part of it probably involves server-client latency. DDO is EXTREMELY dependent on client-server connection speed, for everyone in a party.

Ummm... The only two classes that get better running are barbarians and monks (in terms of running, and not counting AP speed Boosts)

Everyone else runs at the same speed as far as I know. My cleric actually runs quite fast with striding boots on...

Let me remind you that the weight you carry and armor worn (even if its not exactly advertised) does affect your running speed.

My high STR ranger has a very high capacity for storage and he wears light armor; runs like the wind.
My also very strong fighter has good storage capacity, but wears a tower shield and an adamantine full plate.... He's pretty slow, even with striding boots.

Although I've never seen anyone confirm that armor worn and storage weight affects movement, (except bypassing the medium and heavy backpack reqs based on your STR) it does feel like the armor you wear somehow affects movement speed... That, or I'm imagining things.

With exalted angel and twisting in that flowers enhancement, you'll have +30% run speed and wings (according to the descriptions, I haven't tested).
