Your example is stupid. It was something to do besides running to a person and saying send me somewhere like we do when we want to get to Amarath.

Also, once we've done the initial quest to get there, I don't care to have to run that quest again each time I want to swap between areas.

Put it on a planescaler at least but I'd much rather be able to teleport where ever I want to go since it is only good for fast travel around town.

I don't want to run around town. This isn't fun. This is just traveling from one point to another without any kind of interaction beyond conversations with doors.
How about this for a compromise then. The teleport window while in Faerun has only one location on it - Eveningstar townsquare. Which is only steps away from what I suggested in my second thread above - Elminster. This retains the 'quick travel' ability while on this totally new world (being Eveningstar is the only non-combat location there) while also keeping the flavor of being separated from our 'home' reality. Once back in Stormreach the teleport window reverts to normal again (or heck just have the buttons grey out in the same window depending which place you are - although at this point they ought to just use the idea in my sig's second line )

I'm all for saving precious gaming time, but not at the expense of losing atmosphere - I mean it would save a huge amount of time to do away with the whole city of Stromreach and just make a large list of all quests that you simply clicked on to start at log in...

I did. Eberron and Toril are in “the Mortal World” of the points of light cosmology. (It’s in the very document you linked.) That is where the Spelljammer setting lies. And, so far, nothing in 4th edition has invalidated anything about the Spelljammer setting. If anything, it only beefed up the Planescape setting. Or, to put it in simpler terms: Spelljamming is how to physically move between worlds, taking a trip to Sigil or the Astral Sea is how get there through the planes.
Things worthy of Standing Stone going EXTREME PREJUDICE™ on.:
    • Epic and Legendary Mysterious ring upgrades, please.
    • Change the stack size of filigree in the shared bank to 50. The 5 stack makes the shared bank worthless for storing filigree in a human usable manner.
    • Fixing why I don't connect to the chat server for 5 minutes when I log into a game world.
    • Fixing the wonky Lightning Sphere and Tactical Det firing by converting them to use alchemist spell arcing.
    • Redoing the drop rates of tomes in generic and raid loot tables.

This isn't based off of 4E though.....Yes there were changes in 4E to make everything available through planescape but again this isn't supposed to be based off 4E.

Considering guild boats, scroll vendors, Patron vendors such as silver flame pots, house D ammo, cannith crafting, Yugo pots... and all the supplies you need outside of some regents, pots and wands are surrounding Stormreach ... I'd see a ton of unhappy groupings in FR if you could not access things swiftly.

This is the crux Turbine has a D&D MMO game played by those that do not want the restrictions or lore associated with D&D.

It seems they are targeting the general MMO player, with D&D flavour.

While I understand your view, the teleport spell isn't used beyond traveling around town.

If it had some use in combat like how devils/orthons teleport, I could see having a limit but it doesn't so it is relegated to fast travel.

I would rather get from place to place faster, regardless of where it is at in the cosmos.

Going to talk to someone each time I want to swap areas isn't exciting. Traveling to Amarath is a boring run to the twelve.

If you want immersion, then fine, have someone be able to send you to/from there, but I'd like to have my teleport spell updated so that those of us that don't care about immersion when traveling from area to area, can be free to use that spell and we are all happy.

I don't want it specifically locked out of being able to teleport from anyplace unless it is a quest specific mechanic.

I like to teleport out of Amarath. I get no joy out of going to the planescaler to get out of there when I can't teleport.
Disappointed and without trust in the powers that be.
