I don't see why they don't just impose a hard cap on the max number of mobs killed (8 for example) and increase the timer to 60sec.
Spoken exactly like somebody who doesn't play a wizard, but is still convinced he knows what's best for them.
I like the proposed change because it targets the main culprit, wail, without penalizing the single-target instakills, and without punishing people for having a high DC.
However, I only support this change if they fix the bug which causes implode, and presumable also this new wail, to get "stuck" on unkillable mobs.

That only works on easy quests, and easy epics. Why don't you go try that on some epic sands for instance, and let me know how it went?.
It also only works if you have a geared and tr'ed pale master, I would love to see a first lifer undergeared land anything on elite Amrath.

Making spell changes with a large content update strikes me as premature. The complaints of the melees that someone is out shining them should not be a pivot for change, I submit the SDR WotB:

Since its inception it has gone through many changes and all to the detriment of the spell. I would need to know why this focus on this particular spell has garnered so much attention before I would agree to any "more" changes to it.
If it is just to appease the hand to hand group then I say sorry, not good enough.
Give us more information so we can understand why you have tried so many things, h2k, haunting, and now this.

Luring trogs away from the portal or learning *exactly* what distance to stand away so that it can target the trog and not the portal is REALLY annoying.
Increase the cooldown, OK. Cap the number of mobs effected, OK.
Do both of those, meh, but...OK.
Increase mob fort saves/SR? YES PLEASE. Stop nerfing and give harder content.
We already have implosion in the game. Reducing wails effectiveness is alright as it is overpowered but implosion clone? No thanks.
