That's probably fine for you...but nothing would prevent you from THF if you already have the gear for it. You could pick-up the THF feats, at least the 1st or second. You don't need to worry about the full complement as you're just going for PL. Could do fighter instead of monk for the extra feats and kensi if you're very well stocked with two-handed weapons...trapping still viable if you have the appropriate gear, of course.

I'm working on these PLs now, but coming from 3 arti past lives, so, well-stocked on repeaters and such. Looking at 11 ranger/9 arti.

If you really want to go THF'ing then you can go 6 barb/6 fighter and then take the last 8 levels as ranger or something?

Unarmed is a great choice with the only catch being the changes in U14 to AC/defense that I don't really have my head around. Pre-U14 I'd have had no hesitation in suggesting 12 ranger/7 rogue/1 monk for the awesome 100% offhand proc rate giving you the fastest attack speed in the game with handwraps to really push out the DPS with SA's which you can get in abundance with a solid stunning fist DC (14 base wisdom+gear is generally enough).

Vampiric Stonedust Wraps are the main bit of gear to get. Garments of Equilibrium help. A holy bursted ToD ring is amazing for that last leg from 18-20.

Why artificer instead of rogue (extra skill pts and 1d6+3 SA)? I'd understand if this was Yet Another AA Monkcher, but here I don't see the benefit.

Rather than Shintao, I'd prefer Ninja Spy - Shadow Fade FTW! Plus you need Dodge for both Tempest & Ninja.

This is kind of a flavor thing, but what about the halfling DMs instead of the ranged feats for extra self-sufficiency? Combined with monk heal amp, rgr Devotion, and whatever metamagics you can squeeze in, should add a lot of "free" self-healing.

I'd also think about squeezing in Stunning Blow.

Arty gives a few spell wands (ok, the only one i can think of that doesnt really overlap with ranger is stoneskin) without needing UMD so theyre handy as you level, and 1 level of it gives an extra +2 umd when using scrolls.
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.
