No idea. Just getting used to the raid I imagine. In some ways its easier shortman with guildies that focus on being highly self sufficient. Less people to worry about. Saying that we just didnt have the muscle to do the optionals in a timely/efficient fashion. (read the same fight every time for the optionals is boring and a time-sink). Unless that optional spawns a chest with the most unbelievable raid loot I will likely skip it every single time as it stands. It would be enough of a pain to do the fights for the egg while on your way to the end of the dungeon. Having to go out of your way in a maze with some places not accessible because of broken bridges etc... forget about it AND then killing her stupid legs over and over again, whilst being molested by her eye beams...forget about it. Unless the loot is worth it.
Just going to the end. We ARE going to do an optional run here when off timer. (Could pick up again straight away but still believe 3 day timer is active) That chest best be full of goodies.

Just thinking about this further:
1. Really important to maintain momentum in this one - having contingencies if the healers are gone is a good idea. Melees bring your silver flame pots, and everyone should be carrying haste pots - the run back would be very slow without haste/striding of some kind. And I know many people(Often alot of lazy prima donna hjealers) just rely on casters/bards for that.
2. If someone gets knocked off so be it. They will either A: Be knocked off and come back near the start and face an increasingly long run back to the group or B: will be knocked off by a nest of archers and red names that the quest always seems to go by despite a semi random pattern. In this situation the person either wipes out the archers and red names, or jumps off again OR dies horribly and waits on the party. Boredom and frustration will kick in if you wait for every single little person to catch up. Have to keep moving forward in this one else you will just stagnate. (Exception being the last wave fight). Hmm regarding that end fight we didnt have anyone get knocked off - but I wonder what happens if you do there. Could be a little awkawrd. We had one teammate die down away from the end while the rest of us could get through. Some zerging to grab his stone was done but this could be quite fracturing in a pug. Anyone know if there is anyway to instantly port your teammates through the door once you get past the waves and get anna through? will have to check.
3. Anna seems a lot tougher. We could zerg for the most part and she seemed to be ok - as long as the guide didnt get knocked off, then someone else just picks her up. You can ask her to wait as well until everyone clears house then go back and pick her up.
4. It is likely going for the optional that really slows everyone down. The optionals are bleh. We just go for the legs every single time. Doesnt seem to matter a thing how much dps you get on lloth herself except for maybe the start. Still unsure of what exactly triggers the hand but I believe it is just leg damage. I will be doing a full optional run soon and will give feedback.
Just some of my initial thoughts - hope it might help others out.

Yes, the optionals are..Pita (bread)
Thats where we...why we had 76 deaths & 3hrs on our attempt. The optionals. We tried to do as much as we could to... see what was going on in this raid. I wouldn't be surprised if the artifacts that Ana destroys are the relics we acquire. That would be.. heheheh (evil laugh).
When we attempted we got all but 4 of the artifacts. The timing could be down as well as the deaths If we knew what was going to happen and how to prepare. We had 586 monster kills...insane.
btw, how was the xp when you ran? we got measly 11k. Not worth a top tier raid.
I ran with Shade on Epic Elites yesterday & Chrono gave out 40k xp but MA was also at 10-14kish xp(base) but we wiped, so no idea what it would have been.

Not tried the raid personally but it seems its not as bad as everyone thought at first, people just had to get used to it.
Course I could be totally wrong and it end up as another MA, but then again the only downsides MA had were the time it took to get there. (and i guess the loot, but im sure it would be run on timer if the entrance had a tele.)

Way to de-rail the topic Flimsy, heheh! Any way the reason it took three hours was we explored the map a bit and cleared a few monsters so they don't happen to "Double Up" and hit insta red alert. We did a get one or two spawns on Ana that hit insta yellow/orange alert and that nearly wiped us a few times. Also we "Had" a straight path to the end but it seemed every ambush spawn knocked out one to two of the web paths which means we had to take a detour which made it even longer to the end. The end fight took us off guard and we missed the window for when the barrier was lowered due to the amount of monsters still alive and the lack of "Hiding" space on the island with the barrier.
If we had a group of 12 people well balanced and new all the objectives of the raid and where to take Ana and forgo the artifacts we could of done it in 30-45 min. Sadly we have yet to reach critical mass for the amount of people flagged for the raid, especially for healers.
Hows this, why not join us for a raid session with 11 other people and just play along as a new person. You don't even need to talk but be open to communication and watch us abuse poor Ana with the Lolth Beams of DOooOom!
This seems relevant to the raid at hand.

I hardly have any time for sleep, let alone watch you guys, right now. Be my eyes and ears and let me know how it goes.
I will say this: if you get only one chest at the end, you're doing it wrong(tm).
Thelanis: Yijing (*Completionist* TR 20 Aasimar Scourge Monk Level 20 / Epic Level 10)
Thelanis: Pocket-Monks: Sightblur, Peashoote, Jigglypath, Jedinja.
Invisible Fences, unkillable Target Practice Dummy's, Shared Bank's, Pale Lavender Ioun Stones, the dimensional barrier between Eberron and Shavarath, I've broken them all...

Because it is optional. You can complete the quest without destroying the artifacts. But yes, i would agree. I have seen many quests where "optional" is just a word and you really have no choice but to do them. With this raid, i would hazard to guess that the 12 artifacts to be destroyed give an additional chest with the possible raid loot.
What i don't understand, is if people are still completing this raid..why is there not a Epic chest period. it is an epic raid and therefor should offer tokens or fragments No matter what If you complete. Whether you get good raid loot or vender raid loot is another matter.
*edit* I do hope that there are items for every class to use. I do not run many raids on live because there are not items to interest me ( I know that shouldn't matter. I still run HoX & VoD & ToD even though i have what i need) I do not play many alts. I like my main (monk), and even though the Relics(I am still guessing these are from here) look promising, no relic wraps... sad panda monk.
*2nd edit* I know that last edit seems petty. Some times i curse my stupid brain. I am not just for items..but yes i do consider that first. Fun & the group is also a major factor. I tend to solo due to anti-social tendencies so generally only group for raids. I am slowly changing my ways.
