Background: Copied a completionist sorc to beta with full packs of gear. Ran Kings forest quests on Sorc then TR'd him to full druid and ran the same quests.
Level 25, 2 maxxed out ED's Draconic and Magister
Caster focused Druid build, max wisdom, wiz active PL, Draconic ED active with Magister twisted in.
Comments after playing last night 6/7
------------------------------------------------
Odd random gear Note - Evening Star Challenges - The druid staff is meh, the better staff of the war wizards is restricted this is sad panda.
------------------------------------------------
Caster dmg
Sorc - I was worried the spell power changes would really hurt casting damage, running around as the sorc first I really had no issue, few more nukes but rarely using empower I'd say break even.
(Additional Note - seems like allot of new content has resistance to cold damage)
Druid - the same quests and difficulties were more challenging as a druid. Lets put aside the icon/switching issues of herald which I think Memnir has pointed out more than adequately.
The cold spells seem limited compared to fire, when in water ele form I felt alot more restricted on casting than in fire ele and appropriate season. I also stayed out of form quite a bit, as the ele forms give you penalties to such a wide variety of spells not just of the opposing school. -- Input - offensive casting Druids using herald will probably stay out of any type of shapeshift, I found this to be the best bang for the buck sadly.
More feedback to come tonight, my overall feeling is a little disappointed in druid overall. I had thoughts of grabbing druid PL and doing a caster based druid on final life but now think based on playing on lamania that it may be better just to go back to Sorc same concept except I have to UMD heal scrolls ( no biggie) and get haste/displacment and other goodies.

Cool big number note - with the draconic ED (cold dragon specced) in water ele form, with the right season up I was getting 10K (non-crit)hits against epic normal/hard bosses using dragon breath attack - (didn't try epic elite solo)
