    Default Fate Points

In yesterday's Beta event I took all of the ED's to Level 5 on my FvS. I only had enough points to upgrade 1 twist to tier3, the other to tier2 and finally I had 1 fate point left over [i.e. not enough points to upgrade the final twist from tier1]

Will there be a mechanism to earn more fate points? Currently there does not seem to be enough available to tier4 1 twist and have two twists at tier2

I believe what you are seeing is essentially correct. When further Destinies are added there will be more Fate points available, but you aren't expected to be able to fully upgrade three Twists of Fate.

If you want a Tier 4 ability right now, you'll be limited in what you can slot into your other two Twists. It's up to you to decide how you want to upgrade your Twists.

I don't think there is currently enough fate points to level up 1 tree all the way, let alone 3. I think maybe making fate points every 2 instead of 3 levels would be more in line.

Also, dragging and dropping actively twisted fates from your destiny to your hotbar should be allowed regardless of which destiny you have active. Currently, you have to activate the destiny of the thing you want to twist and then select it to drag and drop over.

Overall a very clunky user experience for twisting destinies so far. Not very smooth at all.

    Why do you think that?

Every 3 levels you earn for an epic destiny, you get 1 fate point.

There's 10 epic destinies, each with 5 levels each. That's 50 levels, so 16 fate points. To level up 1 Twist of Fate slot all the way, you only need 10 fate points. 1+2+3+4. That still gives you room to go and get another slot up to Tier 2, and the third slot at Tier 1.

Tier 4 is the highest you can upgrade a Twist of Fate, and you can certainly do that with one Twist with the Fate points acquired by leveling up all Destinies.

Is there any point in leveling up additional destinies of we can't get the twists? Let me know what that would be because it seems pretty pointless to me.

Thanks for the feedback. I will have to be more careful with my fate points on live

There will be an option to reset how you've upgraded your Twists and change the configuration, so you shouldn't need to be too careful.

This might already be available via The Fatespinner on the current beta, though I'm not certain of that.

Going to check that out today and see if I can manupulate better lower tier stuff. My first pass just felt a bit lacking.

OK, Just reset FP (fate points)

16 total fate points for all 10 ED's maxed out

    Tier 1:
    First Twist = 1 FP
    Second Twist = 2 FP
    Third Twist = 3 FP

    6 out of 16 FP spent / 10 remaining

    Tier 2:
    First Twist = 2 FP
    Second Twist = 3 FP
    Third Twist = 4 FP

    15 out of 16 SP Spent / 1 remaining

    Tier 3: Unavailable

The maximum you can hit is tier4 on the twists... There is no possible way to twist in the best features of a destiny. I would have hoped you could max out at least 1 Twist and have the other 2 at level 1.

Currently the highest twist you can achive is Tier4 with the other 2 at Tier1. And this is after Grinding the entire ED chain on live.

1.980M XP per ED x 10 is a lot of XP invested for not a very Epic reward.

This is true and intentional. If you want all the features of Magister, you need to be a Magister. You cannot twist the innate abilities granted with each level, nor the top two tiers of abilities.

And at level 25 you'll get negative XP for leveling.

The epic quests are not the proper levels (21-25) based upon their base difficulty?

You can. You did the math wrong.

    I have a tier4 and two tier 1s available.

Perhaps I should have worded that differently, What I meant by this is that you can not have Tier5+ for some of the cooler features of an ED.

This was in one of my posts further down in the thread

What I am getting at, is that while the Twists are nice and appreciated, I just don't see the motivation to grind out 20M Experience for the ability to twist in the mid level effect.

It certainly seems very high, but it is only 2 million if you decide to really max out a destiny, right? The quickest way to get fate points should be grinding every destiny to 3 and only go for 4 in one if you have to jump a sphere. This is true only if the xp needed progresses non-linear at the heroic xp does. That still does not solve the issue that the xp required to max it is *massive*, but you'll get at least one twist slot decently fast. And most builds I'd assume could probably operate with some resemblance of their key features with just those 1-2 twists.

Also, I wouldn't say the level calculation is neccessarily bad in every aspect. It would at least mean that you should almost always be able to switch to a decently low destiny to match your group, as long as you did not just max a sphere and need to jump.

After all, I'd say the mechanism itself is about ok, just the xp needed is too much currently. Also, it raises the question of repitition penalties. Will we have to TR between levelling EDs just to reset repetition penalties for our characters? If so, that would be a lot of work, just to refresh the prospect at gaining xp at a decent rate, which still is a lot of work itself regardless...

One thing I want ensure that carries forward to live is the ability to reset twists of fate for free/minimal cost and only a minor ( 1 or 2 days) delay between chances to reset, if any delay at all.

    The reasons for the above:
    1) The amount of time and effort it takes to be able to get a twist of fate is significant.
    2) Say you switch your active destiny and it now grants the feat that you had previously twisted, its now useless.
    3) You twist an ability, try it out and decide that you don't like how it works or doesn't fit with your build, some of the feats that are granted do not give enough detail to know whether or not it will fit into your build/playstyle.
