who cares about the free pet really a graphical poorly drawn sprite that follows u around but does absolutly nothing wooo whooo. Why why why is all i have to say. If u want people to truly come to beta and test things and try to figure this mess out why dont u offer them somthing worth while, I would rather come to beta for nothing then be offered a stupid wolf pet or cat or whatever it is im being automatically offered. There could be some real incentive for people to come and push the limits of the new content and provide respectable and professional feedback to hopefuly make this a better game. u could offer some store discounts or some hearts of wood or somthing atually useful. oooh also dont know if its WAI but i tried to log into lamma and its down 5:20 pm est.
so will the servers go up for the beta party or is somthing still borked?

A free pet was offered but no one seems to have gotten one. It wasn't the reason I logged on to test (I didn't even know at the time), but since the offer was on the table, I thought given the developers workload and deadline a reminder/confirmation would be nice. 300 people will get one was the claim, yet I saw about 8 people all weekend long. I find it hard to believe they were distributed given no one that has seen this forum thread has responded they received one.

That said, your opinion is just that. This is a game for everyone, not just you. If people want pets, there is no reason you should berate their personal interest. I don't need an incentive to test, the opportunity to see the changes before they go live and give feedback is considerable incentive. If you don't like the incentive, that is valid. It doesn't invalidate other peoples interests.

I have plenty of money to spend on this game, the wolf pet cannot be conventionally purchased. It is therefore priceless to me and valueless to Turbine. Well played Turbine. /hat-tip

I too was on all 3 days in addition to the previous weeks of the closed beta and I did not receive a winter wolf either. (and yes we are all well aware that they don't "do" anything but they are fun and cute)

BTW have I mentioned that the panther ROCKS!!!

Just because you don't care doesn't mean other people don't. It is because people do care that turbine can sell their other companions at 295 tp on the store. Regardless of what you think about pets and the motive for people to log on to the beta server the prize was offered and it appears it wasn't distributed, those of us who do want the prize are interested in whether if it went through or if there was some kind of bug that it didn't go through.

Thank you VERY much!!! When I logged on today I had an award cert in my backpack which, when redeemed gave me a bunch of cool stuff including my very own Winter Wolf Pup! Yippie!!!
