I haven't bought the expansion yet, but from all the second hand accounts I am seeing, I'm glad that I still have my $80. The real question is whether the game has been so borked that even the existing content I own (and I own it all except for the Cannith challenges) is still going to be worth playing.

Oh well, its summer in my part of the world, and I have plenty of yard work to do while the weather is nice.

Maybe the game will be unborked by the time fall comes. As always, the biggest step is for Turbine to realize that they borked the game. If that takes too long, the game may not be fixed until the snow flies.

As a Premium player, I can afford to be patient. I'd hate to be a VIP paying a sub and have to deal with this.

There reaches a point where you need to decide if it's worth re-learning the game, or if it's better to give it up and learn a new game. Whether to stay with a company that treats customers like Turbine, or find a new company to deal with.

The sheer amount of changes that are "tagging along" with the expansion does essentially make it a new game. Those "tag-alongs" aren't actually part of the expansion, so Turbine's not technically breaking any laws or accepted trade policies, but it's definitely something that's shady in the eyes of customers.

I doubt anyone would ever be refunded, even in part, due to the specific wording of the expansion. The only hope for those that do feel cheated or ripped off enough to want a refund would be if the press proves to be especially negative (like what happened with SWG).

Only reason why I even mentioned that, (and it's overall far more +'s than -'s..) is to clarify and restate that this is an extremely hot topic. (And by hot, I mean there are a lot of emotions attached to it both good and bad.)

If even one single person from Turbine reads the OP and it makes even the tiniest modicum of difference in the way they represent themselves in the future, I'd say that the post served it's purpose well and call it a victory for business-customer relations.

But as Jortann pointed out, I'm probably living in a fantasy thinking this. Either way, it was worth a try.
