Saddly, the loss of mouse wheel control in game is not related to this.

    Highly annoying as well.

Yeah, losing the cursor combined with no attacks while it's hovering over the AI has caused me much rage in the past. It's little things like these sort of fixes that make me happy for new updates to the game.

There is a series of key bindings that are 'unregistered' when the mouse is moved over a UI element so that they can be dedicated to the UI element (looks like the reasoning behind that is because these key bindings are usually assigned to 'left click' which is then needed to interact with the UI).

Most other key bindings persist when the mouse is over a UI element so it's not a problem.

Question is: will this suffice? Anyone know of a situation that wouldn't be solved by this?

Not sure yet if it will be solved with new keybindings. Sounds like a persistant attack button would work. (I believe) I reassigned my attack to my right click on mouse (SO long ago), freeing up the left click to freely click on UI as needed.
I will DEF check any new keybinding changes to this and reassign it to my right click with the new setup for a test when its implemented.

So long as my normal melee attacks take place when I push an assigned keyboard button no matter what the mouse is over.
I have big issues when I tell the character to do something, and the character does not, esp when they should be able to do so.

    I Agree on both accounts.
Also, Thanks for being SO persistant Missing! I know I totally take advantage of the attention you bring from Mad and other Devs, So I apologize for bringing up the "Cursor" issue in a derailing sort of manner. But you are perhaps the least negative (or most positive?) of the "Big" Testers/forums Posters from my point of view. And that makes your posts the most useful & patiently accepted (within reason) type to attempt a slight Derailing.

Once totally done, could I get my Cursor to "Shimmer" with quickly cycling Rainbow of bright colors? hehehe
Ok, perhaps too much. But being able to fully customize the color would be even better for me, though I'll defenatly be happy with even the changes that will make the release.
My reasoning is, even the white cursor could become lost in chaotic battle and also, color modification my help with our players with color blindness. (Or does that just effect red/green/brown? :shrug)
Glitterdust, Sonic punches, and lasting explosions come to mind as possible times of need for cursor and blending of it as it looks in your ss with whats going on.
But again, I understand its just inital changes and I'm totally happy with any positive changes!

If we shrank our solar system to the size of a Quarter, and lay it at your feet, the Milky Way galaxy would still be larger than North America. ~NASA Perspective anyone?

Not a problem. I well understand the Missing Mouse issue we have. Heck, when they released the game, the cursor was already smaller than the standard window mouse icon size. It should have been a clue back then. The mouse icon should cover 1/3rd of a hot bar button to be visible. I hopped about a few other MMOs and games to compare mouse sizes to come up with that size ratio.

    Exactly.

Reason I ask is that Phax showed me the issue today.

This isn't easy to fix, so Phax has come up with a workaround. He's adding a new 'attack' keybinding that will always persist. This new keybinding wouldn't be bound to anything by default and all you'd have to do is bind it to whatever key you want and it will always be available.

Question is: will this suffice? Anyone know of a situation that wouldn't be solved by this?
I'm sure it won't be to the satisfaction of some people, but such a solution would be perfect for me!
