Standard Gear For A Lvl 16 Pale Master?

Okay, a guildy was hit over the head with a stone and when he woke up, he was level 16...

He is the first to admit that he has no clue about Wizards, since he started this char with Veteran Status II. I haven't played a Wizard successfully myself yet, so I can't really help him much, either.

So, what is considered "standard" equipment for a level 16 PM, Drow, 1st life?

He's lucky because palemasters are really easy to gear out. Just grab a con item, an int item, a greater false life item and a potency VI item and you're pretty much ready to go. Everything else is just fluff.

If he's looking for named items then he should start flagging for, and running, the demon queen raid as soon as possible.

The belashyrra's scepters drop from the Lord of Eyes end chest and have some very nice combinations on them.

A nice lifeshield of greater stability (if he is true neutral) or lifeshield of spearblock (if he's not) with the largest guild augment slot that he can wear will add to his survivability. He likely doesn't have the ability to craft this himself via cannith crafting, but if he posts on the forums he will be able to find a crafter who can make him an unbound one.

I was under the impression that lifeshield was still not functioning in Undead Forms?

The other gear that Chette suggested will make up the core of your mid level gear. Though I will add that a friendly crafter can make +2 DC items for his PM. A +2 necro DC ring/bracers is a no brainer and fairly easy to craft (other schools of magic to taste).

You know what, I think you're right, I just spaced a bit, since lifeshield of superior stability with a LGA of health is my go to armor for characters with nothing better In that case either blood rage or thorn guard is probably a better prefix, and both can be made unbound.

Have your friend post in the marketplace for your server and I'm sure you can find a crafter to make these items for you. If you're on Ghallanda I have an open offer to craft any shard as long as they provide the materials. I know people on other servers will do the same.

I can report that I have had Life shield "trigger" in Wraith form- but I cant report if it gave me any HP, as I was surrounded by 10 angry spiders who were not happy with me burning them.

I have it on a Medium Slot/Lifeshield/Invuln outfit that I wear.

(BTW, I am not seeing lots of things by-passing Invuln, even at this level....)

The Mad Trickster rod (-10 concen, +2 Enchant, +2 Illusion, Spell Pen VII) is a nice item as well, esp if you are CCing and have an item to counter the -10 Concen.
