    Default Good DC Conjuration Spells?

    So, about to enter my 6th life, and want it to be wizard. I've never played one before, so trying to figure it all out.

    I have 2 cleric past lives and would like to take advantage of that +2 to Conjuration DCs. Are there any good Conjuration spells besides web? Would it be useful to spec into Conjuration as an archmage? Or should I just go a different route?

    Thanks!


    Also - Was thinking Helf Archmage with Cleric Dilly for self-healing. Thoughts?

    web being one of the most useful spells in the game makes an investment in conjuration never really a bad thing. The fact that you get it as an SLA with little investment (2nd tier sla) makes it a good 2nd school.

    evocation or enchantment is probably better as a first option.

    I'd go for WF AM with spell focus conjuration for free access to web as SLA (as already has been mentioned).
    But I'd go WF because (IMO, of course) you will always be tight on AP, no matter what, and so cleric dilly (even if it's useful for leveling), maybe mixed with some healing amplification and/or scroll mastery to have scroll-healing on self more effective, would take more AP.
    But that's just my idea

    either way, try getting a robe/docent of the diabolist for that yummy epic conjuration focus

    Web is the word.

    1) Take the WF AM, go with Conjuration +1 (School), and Greater Conjuration if you like the school. As an AM, you get Webs for 6 points (even hightened- which makes them really nasty) as a spell you can take. +4 to those DC's (or more, depending on the Enhancements you take) will make web very nasty, and very cost effective for you.

    2) I usually won't play evoker Wizards, as their mana is pretty shallow. I have some damage spells, naturally- but mostly I stick to insta-kills, charms and other forms of CC, and let my DOTs do most of my damage (Firewall, Elec, Cold).

    3) Transmutation can be an interesting choice- It's combination of help in CC (Flesh to stone) and boost to Disintegrate make it fun to play as well.

    Niac's Cold Ray is an excellent Conjuration damage spell for the first five or so levels.

    Web is an excellent CC spell for life.

    Yep, Niac is awesome for the first few levels, and Acid blast is a decent nuke for later.

    Also, grease is a must for any troll.
    Con is not a dump stat, but reading comprehension is not a dump skill!

    Not a bad idea if you want to be a fleshie.
    I used the human bonus feat to throw in the cleric past life active feat.
    I also took UMD, but hardly ever needed to use wands. Maybe just the odd heal between fights.

    I even use that cleric feat on my fleshie sorcs, I find it hits more than a heal scroll (I have wands and scroll mastery II).

    At the end of the day, wizards can fit in repair spells, and in most ways they are better.
    But...not every wizard feels like being WF.

    Acid Rain is the best multi-target damage spell in the game, and it's Conjuration.

    It doesn't scale up in power all that much with DC, but the difference is there.

    Gliterdust isn't bad, although it gets expensive if you need to heighten it up at high levels. Stinking Cloud is an interesting one, too: it doesn't seem to force save checks very often, but I noticed that when it did work on a mob, they seemed to be disabled completely by the nausea, rather than just debuffed.

    Trap the Soul is also a really good spell, it just has a very steep material component cost.

    Definitely Trap the Soul. If you have to points to buy some omnispell stones it is more "affordable".
