Title pretty much sums up my question...when do you wear what? I craft many, have played with Bladmarks, Fleshshapers, etc.

Used to use defiance a lot. Now rarely do.
Most stuff can't even bypass 20/- DR when leveling, and when TRing on an arcane it is go-go-go.
Maybe in elite amrath but other then that usually is just a waste of time.
Usually go:
Lvl1: Large slot of invul
Lvl5: Lifeshield large slot of invul
Lvl14: +10 reflex (fleshshapers or lesser arcane aug IX one)
1-5 Morleth's docent for SP and AP saveage, 5-14 crafted (lifeshield) of invul or just use Blademarks if you can stand how it looks and 14 Infused chaos docent with +10 reflex pretty much gets you to cap.

1-9 Invulnerability (Blademark's being one of the best)
10-19 Elfcraft
There's others along the way that are better but IMO aren't worth the effort to obtain unless you intend to stay WF.
I don't have a zerging problem.
I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.
Having done 8 arcane [TR2] lives recently:
1-5 Morleth/Crafted Invulnerability
5+ Bladesmark/Crafted Lifeshield+Invulnerability
Most of them were purely for the past life and either did not have any docents or no caster-centric ones so they hit cap using bladesmark (which is essentially just lifeshield after lvl 10 or so...) but a good dragontouched or fleshshaper can make a thing or two easier
Invulernability
Life Shield of Invulernability
Superior Stability
Life Shield of Superior Stability
Beholder Plate Docent (Reflex Slotted, situational)
Hit 20, and pop on the Epic Diabolist's Docent. My Dragontouched now rots in the bank. And the Beholder Plate Docent is still useful (for REF save, situationally) primarily because it confers Spell Penetration IX on the Bracelet of Madness and you can then swap back to your Epic Diabolist Docent and have max DC's and very high Spell Pen.

On my arcane lives I went with...
1-4 Morleths
5-9 Blademarked
10-13 Elfcrafted
14-20 Blue DragonScale
I DO use Docent of Defiance for anytime I am doing the "gather em up and acid rain 'em down" strategy. I do however generally cast in Blue Dragon scale...and then swap to DoD.
Unsupressed Quori is cool when you need more HP.
I still like Epic Docent of Grace if you lack the FoM boots.
Epic Bladmarked is really nice also.
Epic Red Dragonscale looks cool...but I think is kinda bad for an arcane.
If you can grind out a nice Dragontouched...those are great. They take a while though.

lvl 1-4 Crafted invulnerability with augment crystal for HP or SP.
lvl 5-10 Blademark
lvl 11-17 Crafted deathblock of superior stability with augment crystal for HP or SP.
lvl 18-> Qurforged docent of battle (I might keep Deathblock/Sup. Stab. when I figure out how to equip greater false life after I put on ToD set)
Reading the above posts I realise Morleth's docent and a light mithral shield of invulnerability would be better for level 1-4... if it really mattered...
Deathblock of Moderate Fortification after Invulnerability for me, because I have a hat that looks really cool on WF. The TR groups I run with aren't big on buffing or even necessarily having a divine, so Death Ward isn't a given.
Deathblock or lifeshield of superior stability with large guild augment slot. Pretty much all the way to, and even at, 20.

1-9 doesn't really matter
10-13 elfcrafted
14-18 bluescale
18-20 quarforged docent of battle (unsupressed).
I like to wear a blood rage docent of invunability with a guild slot for hp. The blood rage is almost always on (for me atleast you might not have a torc so it kinda depends weather or not you are going to be using displacement) and its nice to have another +2 or 4 con and str. Its Ml 5 btw

This is why I love the Forums! Lots of great suggestions and a number of consistent ideas. I haven't tried elfcrafted or Defiance yet. I do occassionally fire off the Titan's docent for DR boosts when I don't want to get interrupted. I do have a Torc (first DQ2, wow...), and lifeshield has been a nice companion (and Demon's Consort). Crafting is in the high 90s, so I should be set.
Thanks again everyone!

Crafted beats anything else. I craft +4/+6 INT/CON, Moderate Fortification, a Superior Potency IV Ring, Goggles of Accuracy +4, my Docent, and a Holy of Bleeding Greatsword. Drop the ML by 2 on all. Make sure four of them have at least Medium Guild slots. Slot HP, SP, Reaction and then a Medium Crystal of Accuracy on the Greatsword. Done.
