    Default Non-Vendored Scrolls

    Deathward
    Freedom of Movement
    Wall of Fire
    Dimension Door
    Etc
    Etc
    Etc

Yall are adding Epic Levels and Powers to DDO...

At one time these scrolls being purchased by players may have un-balanced the game but comon really?

How can these non-vendor purchasable scrolls be rarer than the HEAL scrolls we purchase by the thousands or RAISEDEAD scrolls forlolthsakes....

Where's the D&D lore in this decision to continue?

You have answered your own question.

Its not about D&D lore, its about game balance.

Thats why they don't have the scrolls on vendors now.

Wall of Fire and D-Door are certainly not going to unbalance anything. Acid Rain and Ice Storm are available as mass-produced scrolls and only really used to snuff out flames in Inferno.

Deathward and FOM are more potent but probably wouldn't break anything either.

We've come a long way from when Firewall scrolls were genuinely powerful (because many endgame mobs had <400 hp).
    I don't have a zerging problem.

    I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.

Personal opinion .... Dimension Door shouldn't be purchasable. I think if it was it would fall into the category of never being taken on anyone's spell list. That spell is a potent game changer, and having scroll stacks of 100 would really be sad.
Ghallanda - now with fewer alts and more ghostbane

    Default Dimension Door: I agree.

Is pretty darn useful in A LOT of content.

Maybe just someone give a little re-consideration about Deathward.

I mean having 35 min worth of DW if I pool ALL the Visors of Fleshrender Guards onto whatever character I'm leveling is ONE way.

    But its just silly.

Game balance can be reduced to a series of complex mathematic equations and is a concern.

I guess since IMAGINATION is a key element of D&D...

...it has no place in DDO.

    Ok.

Well maybe when someone is at the virtual easel painting shiny landscapes and happy lil clouds and a nice happy rock in the shadow of fir tree.....

But how bout some lore behind some of the less intelligent decisions like...

UMD increase on Artificer Scrolls WTW!

    Something like:

"The artifcers union of house cannith doesn't want anyone other than the union benefitting/profitting overly from use of the precious artificers scrolls. So we got with the scholars of the 12 and had them place some top secret enchant on them so the plebian unwashed non-artificer-union member can't use them easily"

    or the Silver Flame:

"Oh wow! The sale of Heal Scrolls and Rasie Dead Scrolls is up 5-kabillion %"

"You guys....over there....go take a break....we are cancelling the repairs on the Deathward Scroll printing press due to overwhelming profits in the Heal/Raise Dept"

When I was DM I'd make the players go on a quest if they wanted something extraordinary added to the our campaign.

    BUT...

    NOT..

"Deathward scrolls are too OP they shouldn't be available from the vendors of the land"

    Tap Tap Tap

    OK F(IXED)

Now pass me the Cheetohs and Mountain Dew

I think all arcane scrolls should be available for purchase through a vendor. In order for the wizard to have their spell selection, they have to scribe many spells.

Damage scrolls are already weak against mobs as it is so they should just put them all back in.

I have no problems having DDoor as a scroll either. I would dump that off my spell list in a heartbeat and I have no problems with some spells being that way. That is why arcane types make scrolls. They realize that they don't have to memorize a spell when they can carry a scroll and get the same result. That is the whole purpose of scrolls.
Disappointed and without trust in the powers that be.
