Default looking to do a couple barb lifes

Looking to do a couple barb lifes onn my pali tank, am looking for a painless way to lvl them, an pls don't suggest +5 hearts of wood, its bad enough i have to buy xp pots lol.

Was thinking maybe the helf with the cleric dilly, with a bunch of fighter lvls mixed in, though it would be a pain to dimiss rage an hirlings always die :/

I am gonna tr zerg so not waiting for a healer is the main prob, suggestions would be appercaited

I've always done my barb lives as 8 barb, 8 bard, 4 fighter. Can do cleric dil or umd, either or. I usually start with monk dil, since you can use wands as a bard anyway, extra healing amp is nice, then swap to cleric at 15 if your UMD isn't high enough. They're still annoying compared to monk or caster lives, but it's the best I've been able to come up with.

My monk just finished doing one of these, was about a 2 day 34 point TR, did it duo with an artificer.

I took empower healing, and had enough SP (even without shroud item) and healing amp that I almost didn't need scrolls. Just used cure critical.

    Hi,

One option is that you do an 8/6/6 build. Gets you the past life and no problem if you're not staying at cap.

    Thanks.

I'm doing a 9 barb/9 artificer/2 fighter life at the moment, 36 points, hoping to get it done before the +25% xp ends (level 16 now).

Miss out on Blade Barrier sure but all the extra AP lets me take some things that I normally wouldn't have room for (versatility IV, improved recovery III etc).

Kiting with barb move speed and all the extra HP has made this quite easy. Getting Improved Precise Shot 2 levels early is awesome too (though I only got it 1 earlier due to non-optimal level progression).

I'm expecting levels 17-20 to be a little harder but I'll see when I get there (haven't had an issue so far). Haven't been rejected from 1 pug, I'm a little disappointed honestly.

Edit: For another idea there's a high heal amp/vampiric/bodyfeeder weapon wielding barb build in my sig that I'll try for a barb PL in the future.

Yeah this is my preferred way too. Bard gets you Haste, Rage and Displacement, and when not raged you can heal pretty well.

The Arti9/Bbn9/Ftr2 approach is better, but requires very different gear to what a Paladin tank probably has (Lit 2 repeater, Ooze 2 repeater, 16/t3 Frozen Tunic with Masterful Craftsmanship).
    I don't have a zerging problem.

Yes, a friend of mine opted to give this a try, since it was a barb life on his caster, and he didn't have ANY melee gear. He didn't like it and opted to switch to the bard split for the next two lives, but I think that's just because he had just finished playing a pure artificer, and so it seemed underpowered in comparison I myself have never tried this split, but it seems it would work well.

The absolutely nuts version of it that I've run with had 3 ranger PLs and 3 Monk PLs. +9 damage per shot.

Add in Toven's Hammer for DPS and you have a lot of Lightning Strikes going off...
