    Default Grubbly's Tanking Build (18Monk/2Fighter)

    Posting for referencing when discussing the build.
    I'm open to thoughts and suggestions. Keep the following in mind before commenting:
    Grubbly doesn't really have the gear for AC, and I'm not interested in grinding it out until we see what comes out of the expansion. Therefore, AC is dumped.
    He will be using THF (eAntique) for easy tanking, but will switch to S&B if more threat/HP/DR is needed.
    This means being in SD2 most often, and switching to SD3 for the heavy duty tanking.
    2 Monk levels are for 40 hp. unless an evasion-friendly armor comes out which can compare to the epic Cavalry plate, he's not going to be using his evasion in most situations.
    Primarily an HP/Threat/Heal-amp tank, but I'm trying to make nice with the Intim because it's more reliable.

    Past lives are 2 Fighter, 2 Pally, 1 Barb.

    Thoughts on alterable bits:

    Take cleave earlier while leveling.
    Swap Cleave for Khopesh Prof at lvl 20.
    Drop a toughness for Skill Focus: Intim.
    Enhancements: obviously flexible.
    Decided to spend 4 ap for 1 CHA (+1 intim) instead of Ftr Toughness 4 because he'll already hit over 950 hp in SD3.
    Will eventually slot +1 exceptional con for +20 hp.
    Cleric Dilletante is mostly for leveling, or being able to raise. Alternatively, Pally dille for bonus to saves (Up to +5 to saves), or Monk dille for more heal amp.

    If you plan on using Intimidate for Tanking ever, get a eBrawn's. +20 Intim is no joke.

    You can start with 10 wisdom and still take cleric dill. Unless the wisdom is for something else.

    Also, what about an enhancement breakdown?

    No, I can't, for two reasons. First, because I'm already lvl 8. Too late for changes now! Second, you can only swap out a feat that you could have taken at that level. Since at creation, I would not be qualified for the Cleric Dille, I wouldn't be able to swap out for it once the tome kicks in, because Fred judges you based on how you were when you took that feat.

    Why does nobody read the Builder Import?!

    I've added in the list to the original post. Part of the reason that I didn't include it at first is because as I said, enhancements are flexible. For instance, if I did a gear swap to allow for 3-piece eAbishai, I would drop fighter STR 2. If I slotted exceptional CHA, I would drop the racial. What parts in particular are you wondering about?

    You can, last time I tried. Take somethign without a WIS requirement, like barb dill or rogue dill, then when your tome kicks in swap to cleric dill.

    Interesting. I'll keep that in mind, thanks. Either way, won't matter for this life. Though I've got to say, I enjoy being able to pump out double the healing of a cure serious pot, and then more at lvl 7 with cure crit wands. It fits my playstyle well, and I'm more self sufficient than those who simply keep chugging cure mod pots.

    Just noticed a MAJOR typo that no one's pointed out yet: In the title, I listed the build as 18 monk and 2 fighter, rather than the correct 18 fighter and 2 monk.

    Figured you knew, so didn't mention it.

    So many toughnesses seems a waste(and you still have 2 left over. Lol).

    Try quickdraw for wands/scrolls/destruction wpn/cursespewing wpn swaps. If it turns out unneeded at 20 game, there's always the free feat swap.

    Took the THF line because in most instances, the glancing blows are giving more total dmg than the +4 dmg from the specialization feats. All I really lose out on is the +1 to-hit from greater weapon focus feat. Also dropped 1 toughness for great cleave, balanced by taking epic toughness at 21 (put two lvling points into Con this time). Usually not swapping weapons, especially while tanking, so dropped quickdraw (doesn't effect scroll-swaps for self healing unfortunately) for Dwarven Axe proficiency, and dropped 2 toughnesses for Combat Expertise and Improved Shield Bash.
