    Default Do you frenzy/death frenzy

So I recently capped a 2wf Dwarven Barbarian, and as you would expect he was gimp...
The only time I felt he was producing decent DPS was when I had both frenzy and death frenzy active. But since these cost me hp I tended not to do this in groups (since it seemed a huge drain on the cleric). Now when I solo'd I didn't mind and used them with a pocket healer.

I am now about to TR my paladin into a 2hf Horc Barbarian, since my only experience is teh aforementioned gimp, I wanted to know what the general thoughts were on frenzy and death frenzy.

Is it assumed that all barbarians will have them active, and the healers know to expect it, or do you only use it in extreme situations?

    Default The Frenzies

Death Frenzy should always be on.
As a barbarian I personally feel Frenzy should always be on.
I assume you are Raged 99.9% of the time also.

If you feel(or your healer has implied) that you are being a resource drain, leave Frenzy off.

Any healer with more than a little experience knows that a large portion of a Barbs dps is at the cost of their own health.

    tldr
    Rage = ALWAYS ON
    Death Frenzy = ALWAYS ON
Frenzy = SHOULD BE ON BUT....

From a Cleric's point of view:

A barbarian that is not Raged = Gimp'd Fighter
A barbarian that has Frenzy/Death Frenzy and does not use them 90%+ is not going to be as effective as they should be.

Before Radiant Servant Cleric's had cause to argue that excessive damage from sources to increase DPS was too costly. With Aura, this is no longer an issue.

Now from a FvS point of view:

Yes you will need more healing thrown your way and it will cost more resources to heal you. However, since you won't need to be at 100% HP all the time, and a smart barbarian is not giving up HP unless it is to increase their DPS, an Extra Heal every now and than is not that draining.

*The 10% where these effects are not as useful usually place the barbarian out of range and are thus limited to self healing options. At this time a well played cleric/FvS/bard will understand that the barbarian has taken it upon themselves for any healing they will need.

You should always have both frenzy abilities on at all times.

If you're worried about it, get 400 favor and chug silver flame potions (make sure you have at least 11 in every stat otherwise you will become helpless due to the -10 to all stats negative effect from them).

Unless you are running into a mob of 10 enemies and using supreme cleave, I don't see how it could really be as problematic as you say.

What gear does your paladin currently have?

My paly was my first toon to lvl 20, and he is also my most gimp toon... I took all my level ups in Charisma rather than strength

As for gear, I have him pretty well stocked with GS items. He has a hit point item, a min 2 falchion, a triple pos maul, and a min 2 falchion.

He also has a number of other falchions, including the vampiric cleaver (someone mentioned using it to ofset the hp loss)... they are mostly bane weapons and the like.

All of his armor is heavy, so I will need to work on that a little (but I have a decent crafter so I'm not to worried)
He is wearing the Sora Kell set so he has no minos now, but I have the taps so no problem there...

He also is wearing the Tharak bracers for toughness, a Greater false life item, and all the normal stuff (no epics)

I read that he could make a bunch of holyburst swords before I TR and use them after I TR so I might do that as well...

When playing my cleric - Frezy'd Barbs taught me to love Divine Healing.
Yeah, the aura rocks, but DH has range - and can bail out a zerging Barb in a pinch till you can catch up. Plus, it stacks with Aura - and that's not a bad thing.

But yeah, a while a Frenzy'd Barb can be a tad frustrating - a non-frenzy'd Barb is worse, imho. They kill things faster.

When healing a group with a Barbarian in it-I want that player maxed out on Frenzies and Rage.

Take advantage of the all the abilities given to your class.

Healers can keep you alive for the most part with an Aura or DH.

Worst case scenerio-drop a heal every couple of min-depending on the nature of the player you are grouped with.

Always on. Too much DPS to give up.
