ERROR 40000 - Help!

Ok, I can't get into the game. When my client starts up, it will actually go through the whole update thing, but when it checks the program, I get the following error:

System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80010105): The server threw an exception.
at PatchWrapper.CPatcherClass.UseTime()
at com.turbine.launcher.Services.Patcher.UseTime()

I've uninstalled and reinstallled 3 times, both standard and high-res.

*** is wrong? Anybody know?

This is probably some kind of permissions issue. Very first thing you should do is run a complete Virus and Malware scan of your computer.

Were you able to play OK and this just started happening recently?

Are you using the same User account you used before?

Necro thread -

After taking some time to try and fix this, none of the above suggestions worked.

I've turned on/off UAC, created new standard/admin accounts, removed Microsoft.net framework and reinstalled, ran malware/spyware, nothing.

Currently running Standard user/UAC on, Vista OS, Microsoft.NET 1.1 SP hotfix applied.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled DDO with both normal and high-res versions.

Any other suggestions?

When you say you are uninstalling are you just running the uninstaller or are you deleting the folders and hitting it with something like cccleaner?

If you delete the folders make sure you go in and move you screen shots and skins so you can put the back later.

Seriously? How about submit a ticket? You wait two months for an answer on the forums but you don't submit a ticket? That's your issue.

Uninstall, delete all turbine references and reinstall.

Glad it worked. The uninstaller was probably leaving behind some corrupt or out of date file or another.
