Widescreen and DDO?

I'm very new to widescreen, posting here in case this is something obvious:

Got new widescreen monitor (Asus VE278Q), plugged it in, did a bunch of config, all OK. Can switch bewteen 3 different aspect ratios, fine.)

Go into DDO, flip from windowed to full screen and back, left DDO, now only can get "full" and "1:1" for aspect ratios and entire windows window is "smaller" and only in center of screen now.

Win XP Home @ 800x600
Old Intel DELL chipset (82945G?)
DDO was full screen 800x600 windowed custom

Did DDO or something else perhaps reset a windows or graphics chipset feature I need to re-reset to get back to widescreen and the additional aspect ratio choices? Did I do something obvious and dumb?

EDIT: Oh, and when I restart Windows boot screens and all are in widescreen, Windows forces it back.

Figured it out. Turns out DDO was the first app to change screen resolutions and features and uncovered a configuration issue I needed to attend to with my graphics chipset...
