    Default WF Mechanic 12/Artificer 8

    Would this be a decent class split to gain a rogue past life for a character just looking to get a rogue past life and TR shortly after hitting 20?

    I'd suggest 9 rogue/9 artificer/2 fighter (10 rogue is good but you'd plan to be 7/9/2 at 18 and the last 2 levels don't matter. 9 artificer is particularly good if you have a LitII HRXbow (for lightning motes).

    Thats not a bad idea. I did plan on making a lit2 HRXbow asap before TRing. What kind of level advancement would I want with a build like that?

    i'd go for 2 arty 18 assassin , for higher SA & assassinate
    insightfull dmg & mechanic int dmg mod for xbows don't stack - so i don't see alot benefits from going high in arty , only 2 for rune arms
    & with that i would sugest rad II instead of lit II , but that's for roguish kinds
    & i wouldn't make WF , with umd frendly classes you can heal by heal scrolls by 175(rog w&sIV) before heal amp
    , & for lvling there are often hire to heal
    but as lower lvls it could be convinient to tap blue bar into red

    take first lvl as rogue - so you get more skill points
    then 2 arty for rune arms
    after aim "int to dmg" ability from rog6 or arty 6 , at this point arty should be closer
    most usefull feats in order : pbs>PS>IPS>ICr etc...

    also with insightfull dmg buff you get near zerro bunuses from mechanic pre

    2 levels of arty makes the runearm damage essentially useless. I am aware of insightful damage and mechanic pre not stacking, the plan was insightful strike+mechanich pre, adding int to both hit and damage, not to mention endless fusillade and repair spells to self heal as a WF

    looks like solid plan , by doing so you can kinda dumb dex at 17(core) with another +2 from tomes for 19 to meet require,ents for IPS
    if you plan use arty lvls for to hit & rog for dmg mod
    then you'd better aim arty 3 for to hit , & then rog 6 for dmg , but that time insight hit buff will be 3 mins only - quite annoing
    you might want take more arty lvls first for duration or take metamagick feat & then swap it out or keep (but for one or two buffs kinda not that good profit)

    about rune arm - it's damage will be like quater of possible - being 50% as only half arty lvls & further more pens for being less charged (for high lvl rune arms) - roughly

    another posible aims what to get first : arty 6 for endless reload - nice to kill tough target , rog as first lvl for skill points & rog 2 for evasion

    & there is f2p repeater min lvl 16 with int/dex attack mod (easy to get) http://ddowiki.com/page/Doublecross_Bow

    Yeah, I am fairly certain I have eaten 2 +2 tomes on my arty so far. I am aiming for completionist b.c why not? I have nothing better to do with what spare time I leave myself, why not something that can keep me busy for a while :P. My initial plan was rogue at first for the slight boost to skill points, then arty to 7 so I can get Battle Engineer, then 1 more rogue for evasion, then 2 more arty, then finish my way to 20 with rogue levels. The rune arms will likely be just used for added crossbow damage, and the ability to be crafted

    Only quicken works on arty item enchantment spells
    They also have a minimum duration of 5 minutes regardless of lvl

    ^yup. Which is why currently my first life drow arty has quicken but not extend :P

    But not the added damage dice to your repeater from the rune arm, that's the same.

    Correct, but endless fusillade easily makes up for the 4 less rogue levels if you're built around heavy repeater dps

    yeah I plan on getting battle engineer asap, then rogue. figured 2 more arty levels would give me more self healing via repair spells since I am planning on being WF
