    Default Another request

    Another build request, this time for myself

    Rogue minimum level 12 for mechanic II
    Preferably Drow but open to human or half-elf as well
    Trap skills
    Pure or xclass with arti would be ideal

    I have 32 point build, all classes, vet 7 and a +3 surpreme tome sitting in the bank

    I had this lying around as an idea for an all dwarven party but I always thought it would work better as a h-elf with cleric dil (start with ranger swap it out after you eat the +3 tome). I'm not that big of a fan of ranged combat, but meh.

    Isn't mechanic overkill when you have 19 trapper levels and free repeater proficiency? I'd also skip disable device and lock enhancements.

    I would assume this build would want to max INT. Mechanic + 6 levels of artificer allows you to add your INT mod to both +to hit and + damage when using your repeater.

    I thought that was the point

    Anyway, what would you lose out on if you dropped dex down to the min needed to get IPS and boosted INT?? (basically put all level ups into INT...)

    i suppose only AC if you can somehow fit Insightful Reflexes in there as well

    You have to take the OL and DD enh for mech. Personaly I'd start at a 12-14 int 15 dex 14con and maxed out str then went 18 assasin 2 monk, but this guy wants ranged. Ranged was my original idea for this toon but I tossed it out the window when my dwarven friend stop playing. Like I said I'm not huge into ranged and it was a work in progress. You could swap out a toughness feat for insightful reflexes and put all lv ups into int afterall all your going to loose out on that way is some AC so who realy cares, it sounds like a good idea to me.

    Default Spot

    If you don't know where all the traps are, you need to move more into Wisdom if you want an effective trapper. At least 12, preferably more, or your Spot skill is going to be sucking wind. Personally, I prefer NOT to set off traps with my face.

    Obvious choice for the first two levels is Rogue. Max the skills you need and get that Evasion early on.
    Taking the 2 ranger levels next gives you better melee options with TWF for when you get overwhelmed and allows you to keep up your Search/Spot skills. Be sure to keep up your DD/OL too. Normally, I'd take Weapon Finess at lvl 3 and use Rapier/Shortsword in melee. The next six levels are Artificer and the rest are Rogue. If you take Weapon Finess at lvl 3, be sure to take your Engineer prereq's before taking anything else. I think you'll find this build fun to play and slightly more efficient at DPS and Traps in the higher levels.

    Congrats on UMDing that Raise Dead scroll, GallantKnight, but perhaps you should've invested more in your Spot score too...
