DirectX10 DDO crash

I've been experiencing some technical difficulties with getting DDO to run on my computer. I have just put a fresh reinstall of the high resolution installation of DDO on my computer. I had just finished patching and I then I logged in and everything seemed to be going well. A popup came and asked me if I would like to run DDO in DirectX10 and I clicked yes and the game crashed. I reloaded the game and clicked no in the same popup and the game still crashed. I have also tired running the game with restored default setting and yet again the game crashed. If there is anyone that could assist me with this I would greatly appreciate it.

I think you mentioned trying this but just in case I'm going to include the full steps to reset all the games graphics/audio etc settings to test:

Click on the Windows start button and then click on Documents.
Open up the Dungeons and Dragons Online folder.
In here find and right-click/rename the userpreferences.ini file (eg. olduserpreferences.ini).
Relaunch the game but before finishing the launcher stages and picking a server, instead click the button in the row in the upper right-corner that has the single down-arrow on it.
Choose Options from the menu that brings up and under the Repair tab click to enable the Reset game display settings option and click ok.

For now pick no when you get the prompt to enable DX10/11 graphics if only to try loading up in the default of DX9 mode.

If that doesn't have any impact the other thing I'd recommend is try disabling the sound hardware to test launching without it active (via Device Manager, I'll paste those steps below too). You have two listed that DirectX reports, the HDMI out on the graphics card (AMD HDMI Output (AMD High Definition Audio Device)) and the "Realtek High Definition"). Disabling these and launching the game without them active at least will rule them out as a possible cause.

Click on the Start menu, then right-click on the "Computer" icon and choose Properties
Click the "Device Manager" option link on the left side of this window
Click the + (plus sign) next to "Sound, video and game controllers"
Locate those two sound cards in the list and right click them choosing "Disable" and "Yes" when prompted with the "are you sure".
If you get prompted to reboot after this do so to ensure they're disabled.

Let me know the results when you can. (Also if you haven't yet I'd recommend a tech support ticket here, they certainly can catch things I might miss.)

I think we may have found the root of the problem. My Dungeons and Dragons Online folder in My Documents is empty but I do not know why. I just did a fresh install of the game today so shouldn't those files have replaced themselves?

Most likely it hasn't been able to create the folder or userprefs file since it does so on exit, in that case the steps beyond that to try via the launcher may work. I'd still recommend the sound card disable too just in case it's audio related.
