    TL;DR : Game suggestions?

    I know you said no MMO's but this is what I am excited for;

Other then that, playing Sniper Elite V2 and having a blast.

Skyrim is always a good fallback for me when I need a change of pace.

SC2 is the game I go to for breaks.

It is not for everyone though. You can play DDO with no APM. And regardless of what TempO says, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vccA6tiKrGA You need APM to play SC2

Monster Hunter games are great. Either solo or multiplayer. I would also reccomend Spyro: Skylanders. It might look childish, but it's a fun platformer where you collect real life toys, place them on a "magic" portal and they appear in game. The plastic toys literally save the XP and powers, without any batteries or wires, its just plastic. You can playwith them on someone elses xbox/wii/3DS and your own character will appear... It's a pretty cool concept.

When I'm not playing DDO, I replay my Zelda games, or play Fallout, Two Worlds, or Monster Hunter. I also play LOTRO from time to time.

For consoles, I generally only play older games, mostly SNES era, some NES and some PSX.

Ones I keep going back to after all these years include Star Ocean 1 (SNES version), Lufia 2, Bahamut Lagoon, Terranigma, and Valkyrie Profile. I like Symphony of the Night, but no longer have the platforming skills to play it effectively.

    I like how you think!
I have played (and replayed many times) all of those games

For some old school gaming fun try Masters of Magic or Masters of Orion II

I sometimes go back to old NES/SNES games on an emulator. Things like the Final Fantasy series and Dragon Warrior series come to mind. I also enjoy any of the KOEI games made for Nintendo.

A couple of browser based games I enjoy are:
The Settlers Online and Realm of the Mad God I personally think they need to make an android app for both of these games.
Please consider your future in DDO and invest in HP.

Dwarf Fortress did it first. (But yes, Minecraft is good fun if you're into procedural exploration/worldbuilding.)

Incidentally: Dwarf Fortress. Losing is Fun!

EDIT: I'll also second Bastion, and forward Magicka, maaaybe Recettear, depending on your personal preferences.
EDIT2: For the console classics, how about The Lost Vikings? Ogre Battle? Secret of Mana / Seiken Densetsu 3?

Nethack was amazing, but I was always partial to GearHead.

Especially for the PnP DnD suggestion.

BTW American football is really fun...and you can play 2 hand touch (to avoid serious injury).

Soccer or Real Football (whatever you want to call it) is probably the toughest game to play...have to be in great shape.

EDIT: Posting from work so got interrupted...about Soccer, what I meant is...it is an amazing workout and can help get people into shape pretty quick.
Soccer is an abbreviation of Association Rules Football - As opposed to Rugby Football - We now have American Football, Gaellic Football, Australian Rules Football.
I made the distinction between Football and American Football for the simple reason that all you need is a ball and a coupla sweaters for Goalposts - Nothing to do with injuries whatsoever {though it';s more than possible to injure yourself badly playing any contact sport.

If it was a workout you were after I could suggest a number of sports far better than any type of football:

Badminton and Squash immediately spring to mind.

For something more leisurely you could always try Cricket - The sport you play for 5 {five} days and still end up Drawing {Tied} 9 times out of 10.

EDIT for the Antipodeans amongst us: Yes I'm English and we lost the other 1 out of 10.

Friends? What is this word? What are they then?

Never heard of such a thing.

When I play Pool I play against myself
When I play Darts I play against myself
When I play Football it's against the Wall
When I play DDO I use Hirelings.

Tell me again: What are these things you call Friends?

Considering your likes and examples given I suggest the following.

Options if you haven't played yet.
    Original Baldur's Gate
    Icewind Dale
    (all available for torrents.)

Neverwinter Nights was good for about an hour so do not suggest it.

I strongly suggest the German game Drakensang. Very Baldur's Gate feel with a more interesting view. English version available. (also available via torrent, believe their website has a more direct link though. Hard to sift through though.)

Although I liked skyrim more than oblivian, Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind is still in my top 5 games of all time. I still go back and play all the games Serisa listed adding a few like Original Mario for NES, still love me some duck hunt. If you haven't played Breath of Fire series (III for PS1 probably best) I suggest it, as well as 7th Saga(dont remember platform though I know it is available on Roms, have it somewhere.) Still in my all time fav's as well. Anyways thats a short list of some of my likes that you could get a couple months play time out of.

    To quote Travolta+others:
Hate to see you go, but LOVE to "watch" you leave.
Eternal Wrath - Kages - Prototypes - Rest ful - Musei - Dizafrabdont - Enkou - Kagehissori - many more"To be human is to have the freedom to control one's own fate." ~Karl Marx~

SNES. 7th Saga has some horrible balancing issues though, due to them nerfing stat gains for player characters but NOT for the other non-player characters when it was translated for the US/CA market. That makes it impossible to complete if you reach a certain level and one of a few characters are the randomly chosen "traitor".

The "spiritual" sequel Mystic Ark isn't a bad option if you haven't already played it (fan translation available).

Didn't know that about the translated version, I always play originals so guess thats what I get. :/ And yes, forgot about Mystic Ark.

    Patrof with Valsu, right?

That game was so abusive on our shores...it forced you to grind nearly as much as a Korean MMO, and it was still common for the game to screw you over once you had.

On the other hand, it did have one of the most hilariously apropos of nothing secret passwords for one of the hidden areas, and I actually liked the monster-encounter mechanic.
