    Default sneak mechanic broken?

Newly level 20 rogue here (thanks to Crystal Cove), and wearing the epic tier III spyglass, and holding the epic tier III cutthroat's smallblade. My hide and move silently are both at skill level 56.
So, I'm on my standard CASUAL ore run in the Black Anvil mines. Somehow, I''m being spotted by almost every single duergar, EVEN THROUGH WALLS when I'm crouched as close to the corner as possible to open the barracks doors.

This has never happened before now. Did sneak get broken with the new patches, or has the AI improved (Duergar: "Hey! Somebody must be here! That door just opened!")?

I got spotted by rats in the vale the other day on my ranger.
He doesn't have anything close to your sneak skill lvl. I was able to sneak by some gnolls right after that though.
Maybe the duergar are just really good at spotting and/or listening.

Just was spotted by the whole troupe of duergar in the first mining area as well. Killing is no problem, but the sneak mechanic is DEFINITELY not working as before.

I wonder if the hide/move silently on the smallblades isn't working?

EDIT: Okay, this isn't funny anymore. Duergar from clear down the hall (definitely no direct line of sight) are spotting me. Good luck with Claw of Vulkoor, guys.

Several threads are popping up (mine's one of them). Something got - if not broken - then seriously bent.

It's not sneak...it's the aggro mechanic in general. Because I'm not sneaking and aggroing things from half a map away. I know I'm popular....but the mechanics don't need to reflect that.

I think I agree with you. If I'm not in the line of sight, or just moving past, nothing seems to be happening. However, if I'm standing, even if it's on the other side of a thick wall, they spot me.

    EDIT: Er, aggro me.

I can sneak just fine..... I can be sneaking 1 milimeter away from them, and still remain unspotted. Also, I can stand away from them, as long as I dont get too close, they wont agro on me.

    Into light, into darkness, surely.

Same here, but once I 'use' an item or stand up for some reason, I'm aggroed. It seems to be a proximity issue that is canceled out by sneak. Once you break sneak, you have aggro.

EDIT: I mean to say, when you break sneak, no matter how hidden you are by barriers like walls, you have aggro. Even picking up items that don't break sneak brings aggro (adamantine ore, for example).

I'm leveling some new guys. And I'm bullying my way through the wierd aggro just fine - I HAVE been playing for years. But since I have been playing for years, I can definitely tell something is askew.

As I mentioned. I'm NOT sneaking. And dealing with odd aggro.

I think I figured it out...

It must be Epic Duelist's Leathers. They look so much like skintight lederhosen or a little boy's playsuit from the 1950's that the mobs want to pummel me into the ground and take my lunch money.

    The patch broke the walls.

They can see you through walls, so when you break stealth they'll agro on you immediately.

Got nothing to do with sneak as far as i can tell.

    Yup.

Um, that was a joke, by the way. Just sneaking in a general remark about how Duelist's Leathers make one look like Dill from To Kill A Mockingbird about to go on an S&M playdate.
