It's why I don't use guild renown pots. Unless you chug them constantly, they're good for a quick burst and nothing more. Assuming no other outside factors, the natural guild level balance will remove any short term advancement over time.

Another related problem is that it's human nature to want to advance to that next shiny goal. When you get to the guild renown balance point, your options for advancement become very negative in nature. Removing casual players or streamlining the guild roster in other ways become factors in advancing the guild level. I'm not saying every guild starts doing this when they reach the cap, but I do think that Turbine should be enforcing positive advancement techniques or at least not silently encouraging negative decisions in order to advance.
    100% agree.

Your entire post is A-ONE, Spot-on, *Ding*
Adding to your rep is pointless, as a little green shiny can't convey what you wrote.

There are in fact too many negative aspects to the renown system, (as I said even before it went live) and your post reflects that point very well indeed.

But yes once you get to 70, there isn't much more that is needed.
Let us consider the 6 account guild generating 12,000 renown per day before multipliers, and the 50 account guild generating 50,000. That is to say, the first guild generating 2,000 renown per person per day, the 50 account guild generating 1,000 renown per person per day. That is that is to say, the first guild working twice as hard per person.

The first guild gets 3 * gain and 20 * decay.
The second guild gets 1 * gain and 60 * decay.

To reach level 50, it takes...
    ...the first guild 177 days.
    ...the second guild 122 days.

To reach level 70, it takes...
    ...the first guild 543 days.
    ...the second guild 497 days.

The guild that works twice as hard per person takes longer to reach either (somewhat arbitrarily selected) milestone.

Don't trust me! I am just some person. Do the math yourself, see what results you get.
