what is going on? knowing how most gaming communities are, you have my specs, I would like an email to this answer, I like it when the options available for other games are available for this one also. There are times I do need/want to lower the game window to see my desktop.

Not able to use my windows button to lower the game window anymore?
Most of the time solo can be ok, but fighting along side friends IS better!!!

You're having difficulties in minimizing DDO? Are you running it in fullscreen or windowed mode?
Alt+Tab should minimize it, although I noticed that this wouldn't work for me the other day.
Do any of these key combinations work for you to minimize DDO?:
Alt+Tab
Alt+Spacebar+N
Windows+M
