    Default notifications minimize my game

hello, i bought a new computer, and it gives me a little problem:
whenever theres a windows notification (new updates are ready for instance) it minimizes my game.
    it happens pretty frequently too.
how do i make it stop? is there a way to make the game "always on top" or something similar?
im using windows 7 if it matters.

    thanks in advance.

Go into your mouse properties in the control panel and make sure that "snap to" is disabled.

Go into the ease of access features in the control panel. Go through everything and make sure everything is disabled.

Are you playing DDO in full screen or windowed mode?

You could turn Windows notifications off. Is that the only thing that does this to you? I don't have a Windows 7 system handy to fiddle around with, but is there a silent mode or something for Windows notifications?

The other day I was doing elite Von5 and windows decides to do a fricking update and close DDO. Had to wait 20 mins because it needed to update 20 files.

But refering to your question, there are options to disable all that stuff. Also, I simply dont open any other applications while I play DDO, so nothing interrupts my gameplay. Except windows update... I just disabled automatic downloads/updates and problem was fixed.

Just an extra note with Windows Update:

Microsoft generally only releases new updates on the second Tuesday of each month. Whenever that day rolls around, do a manual run of Windows Update and get that out of the way.

I actually leave on automatic notification of updates through Windows Update, but manually run Windows Update whenever I turn on my computer. That makes it so Windows Update won't even bother to automatically check for updates, since it already checked for them that day. (I manually run my anti-virus update at the same time for the same reason.)
