Default Minos Legens on a Wizard

I just recently got back into DDO after about a 2 year layoff, and since I'm gaming with some clan-mates, I left my old level 15 wiz sit and started another wizard. She's at level 12 now, and I'm getting to the point where I can ransack my old character for fun equipment.

I've got some tapestries left over from my level 15 wiz, and I thought I'd get my level 12 wizard a Minos Legens. 20 stacking hp + heavy fort are nice, however, most spell-point items are head-equipped. I have 100 sp equipped to the head slot now, with 150 waiting in the bank for me to go up a half-rank to 13, and 175 waiting for level 15.

So what can a level 12-13 wiz get to boost his sp 150 or more that does not equip to the head slot? I read about the vibrant purple ioun stone, but I'm too low level to handle that quest, and will be for some time.

If you want the fort and keep all inventory slots intact, go pale master PrE.

Also probably out of your range is bracers of the glacier (ML 13 from VoD)

It was always easy for me to find a magi weapon but wizardry VI or higher is a little bit more difficult. What I would say is it's only 50 SP and go ahead with the minos and grab a power X trinket or something. Also some people will enter a quest with their SP item on then swap to Minos after casting buffs. I don't do this because I forget sometimes.

With the enemies ignoring a percent of fortification Minos works out great even for a PM. If you are a PM it becomes less of a priority though.

Ask someone to craft a wizardry V unbound shard - that will go into hat, ring or trinket.

Needs Arcane crafting lvl 140 and a bunch of arcane essences.

Tome pages from necro 4 are now fairly easy to gather, you can turn them in for the skiver, dagger with 200sp and bunch of other goodies. Alternatively you might try subterrane raids, hound for 175sp ring or vod for 200sp bracers. And then theres always shroud, typical sp item has wizardry6 and elemental spell power with another 150sp, you can slot that wherever you want.

Until you find another slot for your SP item you can always swap to minos after you buff and swap back before shrining.

I usually wear a pearl of power X in my trinket slot and at lvl 14 I equip my Skiver (archmagi gives 200 additional sp). http://itemwiki.cubicleninja.com/Ite...px?itemID=1063

It's quite easy to farm Orchard rares for a wizzy. Since U13, the rares chests can also drop tome pages. It might take some time to collect all 8, but you'll also earn lots of xp and pp during the grind.

This. Just swap out the SP item when you have spent it on GHs/blurs/rage/haste after shrining. Imo there's really no reason to wear an sp item that is used up, might as well put something useful in that slot

Grrrr! Now I'm redoing my enhancements and feats. Thanks, I think

I had heard the Pale Master got interesting mid-to-late game, and had intended to revisit it. I guess now's the time.

Another trinket you can use, which isn't as difficult to get as it used to be, is the Vibrant Purple Ioun stone.

Unsupressed, it gives archmagi and spell pen ix.

You just have to farm Dreaming Dark, can even do so on casual. Although, doing it on hard or elite can also get you an eardweller as well.

Get spellpoints on a weapon. Easy to swap.

Magi weapons are dime a dozen, and that's +100.

Go for the Skiver. +200 SP, Greater Arcane Lore, Reduction in the metamagic costs for Maximize and Extend. It's easily one of the best caster weapons in the game, and really only exceeded by uber-rare raid items (like epic greenblade..which is only better in certain ways), or super specific niche items (like any quarterstaff).
Kobold sentient jewel still hate you.
