Default Party leaders and dismissing others summons

It's time that party leaders (*Star) be given the ability to dismiss other party members summons....

Summons are an over-used and at time annoying part of this game now. Yes, they're great for some things, but cause all kinds of havoc at other times.

Agreed. We don't need any more barriers to filling up parties.

    What else?
Maybe a button to make someone else's character cast hjeal or hjaste?

I would love to be able to kick other summons/pets/hirelings. I would also love to be able to dismiss my OWN summon. But above all, I want to be able to issue simple commands to my summons -- passive/aggressive, attack, stay, guard. If we were given this very basic control over them, the vast majority of all problems associated with them would go away (including the PM skellies getting stuck and not attacking or pets attacking/killing a mob that you want left alone).

Now, if you just think that a party leader should be able to arbitrarily toss summons just cos they dont want them or they want to force a player to run without their helper -- no. For quest mechanic reasons (IE: most of Shroud) -- yes.

Also, being able to toss a summon that is conjured from an item (such as gems) is different than being able to toss one that is actually cast by the player. Just give us basic commands instead -- much better solution all around.

My groups always fill up too fast before anyone has time to summon. People love me.

Not for this idea...there's plenty of ways other players mess up the party and a summon is usually not high on the list. We can't start putting in commands to control the spells of other players...they are the one playing the character, it's their experience...and it's their spell and other players shouldn't have any direct control over other players' characters. And dismissing usually isn't a problem, just use summon monster 1 to get rid of a higher summon and it will go die soon and not do any significant damage. But since some summons are from a trinket there should be a dismiss hireling function for the owner of the pet...I agree with that part.

But overall this problem is easily solved with a little bit of party organization.

summons, no, those are spells, however, the caster should have a dismiss button for the **** things, instead of being stuck with em for their duration.

Now, if you mean hirelings/onyx panthers (read: anything that occupies a party slot), then hell yes, those are taking party slots and a party leader should be able to remove those, possibly putting a few minutes 'cooldown' on the ability of hirelings to join the party at that point, so no other people can use that slot for anything other then a 'real' player for a bit.

The last little bit mostly to prevent a partyleader from booting someone elses hireling only to summon his own nannybot. (confirmation box pop-up maybe? "You are attempting to dismiss a hireling you do not own, if you continue your party will not be able to recruit hirelings for 5 minutes. Do you wish to continue? Yes/no button" or something along those lines.)

Summons suck in raids. In parties they sometimes have uses but...

I can't agree to this for one specific reason. No one should be able to control what another player does. Once you cross this line then it opens up the possibility for the return of the party leader kicking people from the dungeon and deciding who gets named loot.

Maybe at the party creation page have a box you can check to "create a party in player only mode"...and have this not allow any hirelings for the duration of the group. Not sure how turbine would code that but something to that effect would be great. I'm sick of making lfms (especially on on lower level content with new players) and having people summon hirelings in a quest. And at that point I can't dismiss them. When I have the star I should be able to decide who takes up the party spots.
