Default Help me find this movie...

    This goes back a ways...

I couldn't have been more than 7 or 8 when my evil older sisters made me watch a horror film that involved a disembodied hand.

If I recall correctly it involved a man that was trapped under water and they had to amputate his hand so he wouldn't drown. For some reason they kept the hand in a big jar. It escaped and chaos ensued.

I couldn't have been released after '77 or so, and I think it was black and white.

I need to see this now, so I can scare the **** out of my son

    Thanks...

I remember having seen it as a child myself

That wouldn't have been the prequel to "The Adams Family" would it?
After a little Tolkien I am usually up for anything.

Reminds me of a British b/w flick I saw a long time ago. Trying to find it now.

Maybe this one - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0038338/ , The Beast with Five Fingers?

Once upon a time, I was part of a team, and we saved some children. That was long ago and far away, and, yes, I am that old.

Nice guess, but not a "Thing" to do with it!

I remember that movie, but I was too young to remember the title (I wasnt supposed to be in the room). Seth Green did a remake:

The problem is never how to get new, innovative thoughts into your mind, but how to get old ones out. Every mind is a building filled with archaic furniture. Clean out a corner of your mind and creativity will instantly fill it.

Yeah, that one does seem to fit the bill... now to see if I can figure out what the original was called.

Thanks for the link though. Idle Hands just made my watch list
