    Default CPU v. Video Card

I'm comparing two systems of similar price. One has a better CPU, the other a better video card. Frankly I'm a total nooob when it comes to computers.

    System B:
    Intel® 2nd Generation Core™ i7 Processor Speed 3.4GHz (3.8GHz with Turbo Boost)
    NVIDIA GTX 570 1GB

    System W:
    Intel Core i7-2700K processor 3.50GHz
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560Ti

    Both
    16GB DDR3 SDRAM
with similar power supply, liquid cooling, # of USB ports

Just hoping for some feedback on choosing one. Which will run DDO in particular better?

Either will run DDO without any trouble. Get the less expensive of the two, or whichever one you want if money is not a factor.

Yep. Both are good, the 570 will beat the 560 by about 15% or so but I'd still go with the cheapest as they are pretty close. DDO will be gravy on either system.

If i had your budget and mine primary reason would be gaming i would.

Drop i7 and get i5 2500k and overclock that since you will have water cooling.
8 GB RAM is more than enough.
Invest leftover money into better GPU and also SSD.

But either way you will rape DDO and all PC games out there with that rig at max setings, unless you have some fancy multiple monitors setup.

You can compare hardware here: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/CPU/2
Compare prices and user recomendations here: http://www.newegg.com/
Good website with alot of articles, reviews, techy stuff: http://www.tomshardware.com/

I would recommend u to buy each part individualy instead of presetup PC, but if you have money to blow and don't want to be bothered ignore stuff under.

    - MOBO (motherboard)
    - CPU (central processing unit)
    - GPU (graphics processing unit)
    - RAM (random allocation memory or whatever it's called?)
    - HDD (hard disk drive)
    - SSD (solid state drive)
    - Power supply (make sure it has enough Watts to run all components in your rig, around 750wats should do it)
    - Case (One with good ventilation properties)
    - Water cooling system if you will overclock, otherwise air will do.

Don't get affraid, seting all this stuff together is easy, there are tons of video guides how to do it, all you will need is screwdriver and about 2 hours of your time.

Ivy Bridge is said to be coming out at the end of this month.

I used to do that as well, but these days you can get the pre-assembled systems for the same cost (sometimes less) than the individual parts added up plus you get some nice warranties / guarantees on the full system and components.

I will chime in with agreement to the other posters though that either of those systems will rock DDO so it's really just a matter of price / appearance / convenience
