DDO launcher error and DDO client crashing

So, DDO has been crashing at a steady rate of every hour or so for the past week. Get that "the dnd.client has stopped working" and boots me back to the launcher.

I just wanna play DDO without problems! Please help if any of you know why this might be happening... I got a brand new laptop, and been playing for almost a month with it, but these past weeks have been hectic with this. Middle of a raid, dndclient stops working, It takes me 1 min to log back in, but it's just plain annoying how frequently It boots me, not to mention some groups have itchy fingers and boot you the second you lose connection.

I've been playing DDO for almost 6 years, and havent had any problems up until now...

If you post your DxDiag report I'm sure one of the expert graphics users in this forum will have suggestions on what might be causing the problem. I'm not an expert at that though, sorry!

I have the same problem. Its been happening for about 3 years now...and within the last week its gotten so bad I just cant play anymore..I posted on this years ago and various times up until now. I have paid 3rd parties to remote access and fix, reinstalls, drivers updates, video card swap, audio card swap, wiped pc and loaded new OS, changed game settings low, high medium, post effects/shadows off, High res client, low res client, Direct X 9, 10...Direct X greyed out, XP compatibility modes...sigh nothing ever has any effect on the client errors....if you ever find a fix please let me know. However I have quit and believe nothing short of a new computer will fix this issue/purge this demon

Don't quote me on this(take it with a grain of salt) This *had* been happening to me in the past 3 to 6 months or so

"dndclient.exe" has stopped working like maybe once a play session or few times a week.

Since I've switched from Apple Safari to Google Chrome it has stopped(knocks on wood) hasn't happened since

then/since I've changed/swapped over browsers.

Windows 7 64 bit.

Will that work or maybe you all have already tried it/that? I don't know.

On one of what seems the many times I got dumped from the game lately I got a message after Windows was checking for solutions:


This program uses "Flash.ocx" which is not {supported/used... sorry can't remember which one it said now} by this version of Windows.



This message only occured once and I'm running Win7 Ultimate 64.


Is there some sort of Flash issue with progams as the myspace music player won't play on my computer and keeps telling me to update my Flash Player even though it is up to date?



I have ATI video cards and thought some of my problems with dropping from dndclient.exe were cleared up with Catalyst 12.4 but in the last week I'm back to being dropped regularly...



strange I seemed to get dumped standing by the Harbor AH more than anywhere else in the game???

What other programs do you have running at the same time. List them ALL.
Laptop: what make and model
where are your directx diags
As it is a laptop do you have more issues playing off battery vs playing plugged in?
How hot is your gpu getting?
How hot is your laptop getting?
If you play with a mouse plugged in, can you try a different one?
What is your event logger recording?

This is the information we need in order to do a stage 1 guess.

I have had the same thing for a couple years now. Except like you mention ..within the last week or so, just standing in the harbor crashes me to DNDClient error message. That never used to happen even while I tended to crash in many quests.
