    Default Greensteel Deconstruction

I know that the the Devs are working on this for us, and I would like to suggest another option to add to this:

That suggestion is to add an item to the DDO store or to a crafting station that makes a BTC item BTA! Once the item is equipped it becomes BTC again.

This would allow us to move items from one charachter to another that might have a better use for them. This would also allow Turbine an opportunity to make a few more Dollars.

    Thanks

This would mean the end of raids. You could just have one character run all the raids, pull all the raid loot and pass it on to other characters. Yes you would have to purchase this "new item" you are suggesting but there are too many players with deep pockets and would take full advantage of this.

I do like the idea but it would detrimental to the game.

What I'd like to see is an ingrediant that drops either randomly or is available from a given raid/quest after a certain number of completions that is similar to the "cleansing essence" that you can get from your 20th Shroud that can be placed in a Stone of Change, possibly along with some other ingrediants, that would convert the item from BtC to BtA, one 'essence' per item. You'd still have to run quite a raid/quest quite a few times in order to receive enough of these 'essences' to convert all the items you truly would want to, thus the grind would be preserved (for good or bad).

On The Contrary. I completely disagree with you. It might even encourage more people to raid. Imagine if you will that I love to play any of my healers in any quest or raid, however what is the purpose of running my healer all the time in VOD if there is nothing that he can ever use out of the quest? Personally I do it, so that my guildies and on line friends can get the loot THEY want. But now imagine that I can take the loot that I get and place it on one of my own toons that would find it useful. Now suddenly I can bring any class into a raid and still have a chance (even if paid for with real cash or with epic tokens or whatever) to put the good loot on my other toons.

Also, imagine if you will that solo guy that never runs raids because he doesnt have too gear to get picked (his myddo sucks) on the toon that he wants to play. He's never going to get that looot and therefore never want to run raids.

I have been playing this game 10-25 hours a week for 6+ years. All of my toons are pretty well geared out. I run raids to help others.... usually. I do however have some loot that will NEVER be used on the toon's they are on. Doesn't it make sense to allow me and others like me to do something productive with it?

I totally understand what you are saying but the purpose of btc raid loot is to teach individuals how to play their characters. So would you want a healer in your elite tod run that has all the raid loot known possible but never ran a raid on his healer or one that doesn't have much raid loot but ran the quest before numerous times before on his healer???

The player makes the character, not the raid loot. I want someone healing me that has been there and done the raid many times over. Experience is everything.

To me, the real problem with this idea is that it runs contrary to one of the best facets of raiding in DDO: people pass raid loot.

If you could turn raid loot into BtA gear, even if it's BtA/BtC on equip, you heavily dis-incentivise the notion of passing raid loot that your character doesn't need. And that, in my opinion, would be bad for the game in a big way.

However, I would totally be behind an ingredient + stone of change ritual that could strip the BtC nature off an item normally unbound or BtA that was turned BtC by the stone of change binding ritual (perhaps as long as there are no other Stone of Change rituals done on the item, like Alchemical Dodge). Even if it just turned the BtC into BtA/BtC on equip. That stuff was passable before, so there's no power-level issues. In most cases, the items were just decent twink gear, and were bound to protect them from permanent damage. And I just don't see the harm in allowing people to move their good twink gear around.

PS The title for this thread is wildly inappropriate for the actual topic of the thread.

No I have always been agaisnt moving BTC to BTA and even a tempory change of that wont change my mind and there is no need for me to go into why I have been over it and over and nothing make it sound better to me.

This wouldnt be to bad of an idea to add to the 20th list only but tastes a little foul to me but better than the other ideas I have seen.

I wouldn't mind this if the process could be put on a timer, Say a player can only BTA BTC on Equip (Give Up) one item every six months or so.

Also along with idea of a 20th or so reward item being used, make it so both characters need such type of thing to make it happen so both characters have to do some raiding.
