    Default 12 barb / 6 ranger / 2 fighter

    Hey I plan to TR into this build, a kopesh barb with AA burst(many shot, slaying arrows ect.). Also this is my TR and will be my first character to 20 when I get there so I'm fairly new to the game. So please critique this build and let me know what are some good changes.

    note: I don't have to use kopeshes(20th level feat) so anything other suggestions for that feat would be appreciated too.

    A friend of mine was considering to do a similar build. He is mainly looking for a Barbarian PL, and doesnt want to play him as a typical barb. In particular, he is not going to go TWF with that toon as he does not want to craft a full range of weaponry twice.

    This focussedness on level 18 drove me to the following suggestion: 12 barb/4 ranger/4 fgt. With that you still get a blue bar, but you are not forced to wait to 20 to get IPS, FB 2 and Manyshot.
    I have the following class/feat progression in mind, which allows you to be FB II at level 16 to 17.

    1 - 4: ranger
    5 - 16: Barb
    17 - 20: Fighter

    and the following feats:
    1 Toughness
    3 WF: Ranged
    6 PL: Sorc (yes, he has that)
    9 Point Blank Shot
    12 Manyshot
    15 Power Attack
    17 F Cleave
    18 PS
    18 F IPS
    20 F IC: Ranged,

    or alternatively trading Toughness for more dps and earlier feats:

    1 WF: Ranged
    3 PBS
    6 PL: Sorc
    9 Manyshot
    12 PA
    15 Cleave
    17 F PS
    18 F IPS
    18 IC: Ranged
    20 Weapon Spec: Ranged

    Does your friend have HEs & artificers? If so, perhaps he could do barb 12 / ftr 6 / arty 2. Start w/rgr dilly, swap for rogue after getting Bow STR. Feats: PBS, WF:R, WS:R, Bow STR, Rapid Shot, Manyshot, IC Ranged, Prec Shot, IPS, PA, Cleave.

    So something like this:

    Note: the builder doesn't currently acknowledge that Energy of Creation I meets AA pre-req, but I have confirmed it in game; so I had to "fake" out the builder. I backloaded WS:Ranged so I could fit in IPS by lvl 12 & Cleave by lvl 15, but that means delaying Kensai I until lvl 18. So another option would be to take WS:R at lvl 5, Prec Shot at lvl 12, IPS at lvl 15, and Cleave at lvl 18; but that would mean delaying IPS & FB I 3 lvls. Or push IC Ranged back several levels; but that's a decent chunk of ranged DPS right there, esp. if you've got a Silver Longbow and/or Bow of Sinew. I can't think of a way to rearrange feats so you can get everything as early as I would like.

    EDIT: I didn't spend skill pts; but UMD is the only one I would care about. On a 34-pt build, you could start STR 18 CON 13 and use enhs to even out CON.

    My friend just made a Lit2 bow, so the Bow progression will be Silver Longbow -> Lit2, probably, since Sinew is ML: 16, iirc.

    My friend does have Arty, and Helf (I think), but the downside is the following: He's not going to save a feat with the Artificer's Enhancement since he wants to take the Sorc PL, if I am not mistaken. He has the link for this thread and will probably tell me if I am telling nonsense here.

    4 Ranger/4 Fgt gives you 4 and a half feats (Bow Str, Rapid Shot, 3 fighter feats), and a blue bar which with you can get +3 damage.
    6 fgt/2 art gives you 4 fighter feats, a blue bar with which you can get +1 damage, the option to save a feat for 1 AP, and UMD. I think it's a close call.

    About the rogue dilly: Usually, he will be duoing with another friend, and thus have aggro most of the time. For that particular use of the build, I do not think that Rogue dilly is a particular beneficial idea.
