Bard Songs - help me do my metal versions :)

G'day, Coit here.

Some people that run with me may know that when i'm not shiftworking my days away on a dangerous goods site, or strapped to my lie down internet chair playing DDO, that i'm something of a hobby musician : playing classical piano and blues/punk/metal guitar when i get the chance.

Well, i've just picked up a new you beauty Jerry Cantrell signature crybaby wah to complement my Peavey 6505 thumper that i drive with my old reliable Guild guitar (black beauty, the only woman that's stayed with me for more then a decade :P).

Some people may know that i play bards, a lot, i've got 3 active ones at the moment.

So, i wanted to put together a little metal song, loosely based on the bards songs from DDo.



My question is this : does anyone know the file names of the sound files (and/or the directory they're stored in) for the bards songs in the game?



Then i can import them, and play them over and over and over till i have a nice metal derivative for each little ditty, which i can then string together and put some funny "i play a metal bard" lyrics to.

If i get the project finished i'll post the "bard song" somewhere here in the forums, or at least a link to a host site i'll upload it too.

Mrcow has those files your looking for. I have no idea how to get them . The link never worked for me. He also states where they can be extracted from in the sound files. In your Turbine folder look for "client_sound.dat" No idea how to extract and sort em all tho.. Hope this helps a wee bit. If not maybe bump that thread and ask those guys for some info.

If the links start to mysteriously stop working, it is either that a lightning storm occurred and shut my server computer down (seems to happy every 2 months or so, and is a fickle beast to get back to a working state), or a firewall is preventing you access (which seems to be common for people trying to listen at their workplace). If either becomes a problem, I can alternatively upload them to Youtube.



If you want to personally extract out the sounds from DDO someone made a tool for that (well, LotRO actually, but they share the same core engine). DAT_UNPACKER will help you do that. It just may take quite a while to sift through all the sounds though, as there is no inherit naming scheme to them, so you will have to blindly look through ~9200 sound files to find the ones you want.

We'll be jamming it up this weekend to get a raw idea of what we can put together, then i'll be seeing what little soundbites and such i can throw in (i've just got to have some bites from harry's speech in part5 of the shroud in there, can't have a DDO related song without that! xD).
