    Default Subscription removed.

Yesterday bought a 3 month $30 subscription and later that day I canceled it so I wouldn't be billed in another 3 months and I log in today to see my VIP status is removed and I'm premium. It specifically stated when I removed my subscription that my sub would last for 3 months then it would be removed, however this is not the case. I sent in a ticket, just figured if anyone could help me here. Also, the 29.97 was removed from my bank account, so do I get refunded?

Well, firstly I'd have to say you should have thought through your actions a little bit more, for the future at least. Considering that it is the weekend, and credit card transactions might require "next business day" or 1-2 days to process and confirm, cancelling it within the same day (if you were intent on keeping the purchase) might cause problems.

When you subscribe to VIP, DDO activates it almost immediately (again, depending on region and could vary between 30 mins to 2 days) even though the credit card transaction might not have been fully confirmed. By cancelling it within such short notice, you could have cancelled the transaction midway and the DDO system would have then thought that you were not intending to get VIP in the first place. If you were intending to prevent your credit card from getting billed, you should have cancelled it after 3 working days minimum I'd say, preferably even longer after.

You might or might not get the $29.97 back. There might be a "holding policy" for a company or bank to hold that amount temporarily for a transaction, and it is possible that you will get refunded later. Or perhaps the transaction was confirmed and the bank paid Turbine, but the cancellation of your card means that after Turbine received the money they can't recognise it on your card so they cancelled the VIP.

The best advice is to contact DDO Account Support to state your problem and whether you were intending to subscribe to VIP or not. Next contact your bank to verify whether the transaction was successfully confirmed and whether you intended the purchase or not.

You should have canceled it a few days or even a week later.

This^, in so many words, is how you say time and feedback on Lamannia are wasted.

The only reason this seems so odd to me because I've paid for subscriptions to other games like WoW and Everquest and I never had any problem doing this with them so why should DDO be any different. Also, it wasn't during the weekend it was Friday morning around 8 AM EST so it had a full day to process.

did you miss the part where he said it can take 1-2 days to process? yes, it can.
you used to purchase and then cancel in the same business day? . . .
did you also by chance try to get a refund and keep the purchase?
that's the first thing i think of when researching a situation like you describe.
That's ok though, I'm sure (turbine)customer support gets paid by the hour.
Just as a heads up, you will get your money back but it could take 3-4 days for it to get straightened out.
but, by all means, contact customer support and complain to them.

No I didn't get a refund I simply do it because I don't wanna forget after 3 months that I'm about to pay another $30 I don't wanna pay. I have no problem paying $30 for a game I like, it's just a weird mishap I've never had happen before.
