1 red scale = 100 major sp pots
3 red scales = 400 major sp pots
5 red scales = 800 major sp pots

They didn't drop in price. I got 17 + a ton of essences for a Standard Code maybe 2 weeks ago? Give it exactly 3 days, and you'll be glad you *only* paid 20 scales, because some poor sucker is gonna have to give his eye teeth for one. But the reality is that the Standard and CE codes are worth *way* more than they're being sold (if you compare to the cost of TPs). I did the math, and if you only have 5 characters, the CE is still worth close to 20,000 TPs after you factor in what you'd pay for the 2k you get for free, the druid, all the packs that are included, the vet statuses, and the xp tomes, not to mention the *permanent Gold Seal Hireling* starting at lvl 18, and the vanity pets that you simply can't get anywhere else. So...yes...20 scales is a pittance, comparatively, and anyone who tells you otherwise is bad at math.
