If you don't like what's offered, don't buy it.
I'm premium myself, and have all packs. I bought the CE anyway because, for me, it was a good bargain (free lesser tomes on all my 24 characters, for instance). But if it's not good for you, don't buy it.

Bronies: For those who get it, no explanation is needed; for those who don't, none will do.
I'm operating under the assumption that most premiums either have most or all of those packs or don't really want them in the first place so Turbine tried, and to my mind succeeded, to make a package that was worth buying even without them included. Those packs are basically there as a starter set for new players they are hoping to attract to the game with the expansion is my impression. Is it really a bad thing for them to be trying to attract new players without making them buy a, to their perception, more expensive package than what current players are buying. Out of all those packs, only VoN and DA are really close to being 'must haves" and they are both in level ranges that are pretty dense with F2P content anyway. You don't see Sands, GH, Vale, or Shav on that list because those are packs they feel they can't, basically, give away to incoming players in the hopes they stay around long enough to buy them along with, hopefully, an ever increasing amount of new content.
This is exactly the point people need to remember.
If you're looking at getting the LCE, you shouldn't be looking at just the packs.
Getting for each and every character you have now (and will ever make in the future!):
- Exp Tome (game bonus)
- Mask (game bonus and cosmetic)
- Pets (cosmetic)
- Panther Figurine (game bonus at high levels)
If you're willing to shell out $80 US, those should be your priority in thinking of what you get in return.
Not the Packs, those are icing.
this is what i want the preorder for, and im prepared to pay some decent money for it. but 80$ for only this? would you buy that? i really want the shinies but theyre just not worth 80$ imo. i totally would have bought it if i didnt already own all the packs though, i think the packs add alot of value to the deal but only for those who doesnt alredy have them

PS: Greensteel RUINED the game! and you all know it!
less buffing, more nerfing!!!
to make it easier for those of you that wants to avoid me in game, all my characters are in "Bladesworn Mercenaries"
I have been VIP since beta. I have no thoughts of ever going anything less. Now considering that I have paid for all this content for this many years and I still have to buy the packs that I already get then why should premium be any different?
It is a very basic thing, you are paying for the extras and not really the packs. If the extras aren't worth it then don't buy it. You don't HAVE to buy it to play the game so asking for more free just because you bought something else isn't reasonable.
So over the last year I have bought everything on McDonanlds menu at least once. Does that mean they owe me a free meal or future discounts?![]()

Telling the OP to shut up and just don't buy it is pretty closed minded.
I agree that the CE pack is a great deal for others. It doesn't mean it is a great deal for all. All their asking is give them some options. You are not going to please everyone but at least try to give some options. No, the 30, 50, 80 is not enough options.
They want the Collectors Edition, I want the CE too.
You can't force your ideas that, hey it is a good deal to me so shut up.
They are just asking for more options. I am just asking for more options.
If they give us more options, we buy, then Turbine gains money. More power for turbine. Good for the health of the game. What is wrong about that?
Looking at LOTRO, no new bundle will come - it is a take it or leave it deal. LOTRO top bundle was US$49.99 (+3 mounts, +25% xp pocket item for every character, +packs from previous two expansions, +1000TPs). In LOTRO, I think including the packs was not such a bad idea because those were packs from past paid expansions. Post launch, the LOTRO bundles continue to be sold, less the xp item.
It will be nice to know what post-launch bundles there will be, but I don't think they will tell you (they won't even tell you what content will be in the expansion at this time!).
but we ain't got a demand section~~ plus it is a "suggest" sine turbine would just ignore it like they always been..
getting something useless in a bundle and getting two less item from a bundle are totally different thing..
yea.. i got ce anywayz.. but i was hoping more people would getting it.. so i won't have to solo the new content
because they have done it somewhere else, so there are nothing wrong with it?
really i don't know why some people even reply, it almost seem they have nothing better to do but post something meaningless here. all am trying to do is to demand fairness, and i believe supporting the game company by buying update upon release shouldn't be "punished".. oh well~~~ from reading these it really tell me why game company doing thing more and more careless..oh well~~ not only my loss, if you are really that happy then please enjoy~~
p.s. i got -12 reputation from this post...i think it already answer my question.

This in a nutshell is what many have been trying to say, repeatedly, during this thread.
It's not necessary to buy any editions.
There are 3 options that they are giving us.
- 1: The watered down very basic option that doesn't include Druids or Challenges, just the Expansion, Epic's and 1 Lesser Tome per game world and some fluff.
- 2: The middle of the road option with Druids, Challenges, Expansion, Epic's and 1 Greater Tome per game world and some more fluff. And some Packs in there too.
- 3: The expensive option with Druids, Challenges, Expansion, Epic's, 1 Greater Tome per game world and 1 Lesser Tome per character til the day you stop playing or the game shuts down, and a whole bunch more fluff (including the ml18 FOWP: Panther Super-Hire). Oh, and it has 2 types of Packs in there too.
I beg to differ, especially in light of Turbine making the decision to have more than 2 options.
Aside from the last 2 years, when was the last time a game came out with anything other than the regular edition and the collector's edition?
Up until recently, it was never heard of to have a middle option.
3 is better than 2, right?
My point is they didn't *have* to release with more than 2 options, because that's the industry standard.
Regular and Limited &/or Collector's editions.
Also, pointing out other types of *content* that are being glossed over in lieu of another form of *content* is not telling anyone to shut up.
Would it be nice to have more options?
Sure, it's always nice to know there's more than one way to get what you want.
Is demanding "something to be changed because others already have it" good?
Has not been in my experience.
