This is exactly what I'm looking for, and the perfect time to do it.

I'm a returning player that never got very far the first go 'round. That being said, I should be considered basically new again; though, I'm a good MMO player and familiar enough to D&D to have it be understood, I'll still hold my own and will be a solid contribution.

I literally started again today and am a VIP, and have purchased Favored Soul and Artificer. I'm open to playing whatever for DPS/utility... or perhaps give me 2 or 3 builds that would work and let me choose from them, etc.

I love static groups and light/med RP doesn't scare me, as long as you're tolerant of "lore mistakes" and such.

I'm hoping this hasn't been filled yet, and look forward to your reply.

We need more of a front line presence with the ability to soak up some damage.

A WF Favored Soul would work great as our Wizzy is also WF and the Artificer is there to repair as well.

A Monk who favors the Light path would play nicely into the fold.

Even a Sorc would work as well with the firepower from the spells to deal some damage.

i've been looking for a static RP group for quite awhile.

if you are still looking, i have quite a bit of experience playing a Paladin (DDO), and RPing one in PNP

i'm a premium player and never bought 32pt build (unlocked on my main server, so never saw a reason to)

also if you dont want a pally, i could do pretty much any other melee (but i hate playing BARB) or a Sorc (good a building/playing those too)

EDIT: actually, i just remebered i might be getting a night job soon....................
so if it comes down to choosing between me or someone else, you should probably pick them

Considering I was already looking at a WF FvS (no joke) and love the idea of monk, I think I could go either route with this. I think I will do some quick research into a good FvS build and will be ready if needed on Wednesday night.

    Default Just am FYI

Krago just so you know I am a sorcerer this time around. The group wanted to have charisma taken care of I think so everyone ask if I minded a sorc. which I said no problem (like both). I then picked wf so healing would be a little easier on riivr (think that spelled right for his toon this time). I will post my buildon our main forum.

Anyway I think any front line type would be good, a melee fvs sounds good to me. My toons name is Starmech, can't remember the other guys new names at the moment.

I vote yes. I think WF THF FVS (wow, lot of acronyms, reminds me of Robin Williams in Good Morning Vietnam) would be a great addition.

Sweet, I'll do that then. If you know of a build to point me to, I'll scope it out...

Otherwise, any suggestions are welcome for initial build, etc, and levelling. I don't mind building the toon to fit the group at all, and am just excited to get into a static group again. Please note any MUST HAVE feats and skills to focus on... otherwise, I'd hate to break myself before even getting out of the gate.

edit: If you don't have any suggestions, I'm not afraid of doing my own research... I'm just also not afraid of taking the easy way out

DonEstuardo since you replied first you are in. See you on wed. If you can give me your toon's name, I'll invite to a guild.

Asmodeus451, We will definitely keep you in mind. Sorry.

Skills: Concentration, just like a cleric
Feats: I would think THF would be the choice if you can do WF because of the enhancements WF get for THF.
Stats:Strength would be the prime stat for level ups. You would not be the main healing in the group so your SP pool does not need to be vast so CHA can be treated accordingly. Con would be vital, as always. INT, WIS, DEX dump stats.

Folks, just remembered (actually just looked at a calendar, it is great being retired), I won't be around on wed night. go ahead and run the rest of the quests Korthos, I'll catch up.

DonEsturado, please post your character's name. I will invite you to guild.

For all the other members if you did not get an invite, please let me know. I think I got everyone. Additionally, you must log the other toons in at least once a week, until we decide what to do with them. Don't want to lose favor for the guild.

    Thanks

Just created him... (hopefully not too awfully). Name is Deekao

Also, any prep I need to do? Such as, are we doing the island? Anywhere I should be? Etc.

This will be my first/only toon on this server, so I'm not sure how that may affect things... I seem to remember there being a problem with people not being in the same "version" of the island or something way back, last time I tried...

    Default Warchanter or spellslinger

I do think everyone except 1 has a blue bar.. U sure I shouldnt go spell slinger? I will up to hit just as much to help the mellees out as my WC build.. but have buffs for the fvs wiz and sorc.. and provide CC.. downside I wouldnt be an up front mellee.. Either way is fine to me.. what do u guys think?

    And welcome Don

Tried to send this PM as I didn't want to clog up the recruitment thread, but it's too many characters... Any initial thoughts? The starting stats are already created, so they're pseudo-locked in (unless we want to do the character invite again)... otherwise, here's Deekao!

Zim, the more blue bars the better. If I knew how to use one we could all have one. lol.

We have room to make some adjustments as we go with the characters we have, I believe.

    Default kinda

Well going 15brd/3rog/2fighter and going 20 bard are completely different builds..

These are the Warchanter builds I would base mine off, they are very similar

    http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=195289
    http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=195090

    The pros for group are:
bard songs +to hit and +damage
    Damage Resistance song
Stackable HP buff like aide but stacking
    Hage
(note for FVS bless and song do not stack and Sorc would not need to take Haste or Rage)
Decent DPS (excellent when you take into consideration it adds to Everyones DPS)
    +to skill song
Fascinate song should stick at higher lvs
    another toon with evade
    some rog capability possible
I have capped this toon on another server and have good experience playing this toon

    The cons
    Low HP
    Low Mana points
Warchanter wont kick in till lv 10ish

As for spell slinger I havnt played one yet
    Pros
    Increase to all casters DC
    Mana regen
    Good backup heals
    UMD
Spell slinger PRE comes a lot earlier than other build

    Cons
    Lower DPS
Not really an up front mellee
    no evade
    low HP

Reminds me Don. If the FVS build really only has 280 HP at lv 20 with no evade thats gonna really hurt.. Can u squeeze in a toughness feat?
Limited TRing (bard PL feats are basically useless IMO)

Well, Don's toon has a blue bar for mostly self buffing. His DCs are going to be dismal at best since the FVS uses WIS to calculate their DCs.

I think Warchanter is the better option since Wet is a Sorc and Rivrr is a healing bot so we wont have a lot of toons with DCs to write home about.

Thanks for the suggestion. Originally, I cried inside a little at having to give up a feat; however, after looking at my enhancements, a few were very lackluster as well. I basically gave up a good feat for toughness and a bunch of much-better-spent enhancements. From 280 to 382 without gear considerations. And no wasted enhancements I feel. I just edited the previous build if you care to take a gander.
