    Default DT Armor slotting

Im curious for opinions on best dragon touched armor slots for two of my characters. Pure assassin rogue and a Kensai/rogue Arcane Archer.

Comments and Idea's please, just in general, but I'll post what Im looking at for my specific gear layouts (as they stand).

    Rogue:

Eldritch: Im thinking 10% heal amp or +3 charisma skills. Wont have +3 cha on my GS, and currently have 0 amp. But resistance +5 might be nice, open up my cloak.

Tempest: Damage guard or heal amp 20 (leave ToD ring for +2 exceptional stat).

Sovereign: Tharnes might be nice, as I have the bracers and could wear them with the rune, but I just dont think that would last compared to some of the epic bracers out there I dont have yet.

Does radiance on DT stack with radiance GS accessory?

Enervation, Air and disintegrate all look good too.

    Arcane Archer:

Eldritch: I'm curious as to how useful the Fear one would be. How often it procs etc. My AA has trouble soloing and I wonder if this might help.

    Thoughts? Suggestions, experiences? Thanks.

heal amp. Heal amp is good, heal amp is great. Heal amp's gonna keep you alive as that healers prolly only casting mass heals. (not everyone's a master healer in knowledge.)

Yea I know how healimg amp works, and I know that I should have at least some. But unlike my self healing melee builds I am not as concerned with hitting a high amp on my rogue. It would mostly be nice to get some benefit to scroll heals and help staying up in raiding mass heals.

I'd really like to hear what sort of stuff people think is best for their DT armor rogue. Still, thanks for the response, I suspect that the tempest for both characters might be 20% HA.

Its actually amazing how many people dont have any healing amp. I know this because I regularly use my virtuoso's song of sustenance and its very clear when it goes off who is getting amp'd. Not very many, maybe one in four or five.

    yes, this

Make 2! Or more! I have 2 robes I made first life (and I advise to make one of each robe so you can see what you have on):
1 with +charisma skill, +20% heal amp and a guard. <- usually equipped
1 with +5 resistance, magma guard and smiting. <- situational

(By the way, the smiting is not like the current smiting - I only found this out later. It does not do damage itself on a reg hit, like smiting weps do, only the chance at a kill on a crit and confirm.)

Ive been using the poly curse dagger, which I will swap out for midnight greeting when I can epic it, and the negative levels are just great, allowing paralyze etc so the enervation gaurd looks pretty appealing to me. Not sure what the proc rate is like though.

Any comments on whether radiance on armor stacks with GS radiance gaurd would be very helpful.

For my rogue who is not wearing epic abishai set, my decision for the 4 armors I use most frequently:
    +5 Resistance
    20% Heal Amp
    Tharnes/Destruction/Radiance Guard/Smiting
Toons on Orien: Meinir // Flodur // Twiddler // Thorkar // Impetor // Juliacantor // Minor all Soko Irrlicht

    Eldritch: +5 Resists
    Tempest: +20% Heal Amp
Sovreign: To Taste (Or whatever you pull, lol)

Air Guard is so-so - its not a great proc rate and the Alacrity doesn't stack with Haste, but the (very) occasional Knockdown is always nice.

I have Freezing Ice on another toon - now that is fun

If I could pick and choose my Sovereign, I'd prolly go for Destruction on weaponised melee's, Radiance on unarmed users or something AC related if I'm building for AC.

I have radiance on my bard's DT, and it seems to proc A LOT, and is very useful for mitigating damage. Take that thing into sins of attrition and solo it lol.

Im curious why you guys are saying smiting? is it so you can continue to use your best weapons against constructs? Cause you can just swap to smiters and actually get the 100 dmg proc too. Oh I see, I wiki'd it and it STACKS with smiters new effects!!

same guards do not stack, so a rad guard on DT and a rad guard on GS will not stack. how about the dancing guard? it's pretty fun

    Default Eldritch slot

    Hi,

I've found that slotting the greater striding eldritch rune really opens up the boots slot. Among other things, it's useful if you like to wear kundarak delving boots, and in ToD when you're wearing your boots of anchoring.

For the other slots I have 20% healing amp and potency to increase my ranger's self-healing. The sovereign rune of destruction looks pretty handy too, but I don't have one yet.

    Thanks.

PS: To answer your question about using the eldritch rune of fear, my advice is that you don't. Your AA can decide when he wants to turn on a fear effect using imbue on his arrows, and an always-on fear effect can be very annoying for other party members.

Lastly, if you've accumulated a whole bunch of runes, consider making a few DT vestments or robes. You could customise them for special purposes and even swap them quickly in quest. My main's vestments for Levels 16-19 and Level 20 are quite different because of the differences in my other gear at those points.

My general thoughs is that on squishy/SA types is totally worthless to put dmg guards, if its attached to another item, then sure. But otherwise: In fact you dont want it to proc, since you dont want to be spankend often. The procs are low in chance, so before it kicks in the enemy should be dead.

So i would say to use DT armor:
    - For survivalibility. Keeping your alive, so u can do all cool things.
    - For missing parts. If you other gear (named) settup end with some lose ends (like no resistance, no Heavy fort and stuff like that).

    As for suggestion:
Eldrich: Resistance is good, especially if so far u r using just cloak of resistance. (you are trading 1/3 of slot for 1) (craft 3xair hp gs, or go for mabar cloak)
But also you may use to get something you dont have like Heavy fort, striding, or GFL.

Tempest: HA 20% is hard to beat.
The other idea is to use this slot for some missing stat (like str) or even exeptional con if it helps.

Sovereign: Tharne if you have a pair for that. Otherwise: Stoneskin/Destruction.

Nothing stops you from crafting the second one for other purposes and more specific quest. For example:
Slayer area fun: Fearsome, Corrosive Salt, Radiance.

Or the set 1 with smiting for Artificer stuff.

Dancing guard is handy for those quests where you don't necessarily want to kill everything that attacks you (Sleeping Dust, etc).

    UDR Loot Rules:
    1) No griefing people for pulling loot that dropped in their name
    2) When rolling, classes for which the item is "useful" get +10 to the roll
example: Wiz and Barb both roll on a Torc, the barb saying "I'm TRing into an arcane next week"
Wiz gets +10 on his roll

I wouldn't put guards on a rogue. Unless, of course, as an extra set of gear for soloing. I found Smiting to be disappointing, since it doesn't do the 4d6 damage like the weapons.

I always try to put HA on Eldritch and Tempest, if possible. Other than that:

    Eldritch: Resistance, Cha Skills.

Tempest: +6 Stats (rather meh, can be slotted in epic slots. Can be nice for a new-ish player though), +1 Exceptional.

Sovereign: Destruction is certainly nice on any melee. +20 HP as temporary solution if you are new and lack GS mats but have plenty of Tempest and Eldritch runes.

My Sin's DT is +5 to all saves, 20% healing Amp, Destruction. I like it so much I use it over the 2 epic sets I have created.

    T1: 10% amp/+5 resists/GFL
    T2: 20% amp/Salt Guard/Magma Guard
    T3: Radiance/Detruction/Ooze

You can make multiples and swap as needed, but those will be your best best on just about any melee unless you're a tank, then you want amp/amp/destruction or threat/threat/destruction.
