    Default Do PMs need Deathblock?

Didn't see it specifically mentioned in the wiki so I'm assuming they DO, but I've had several more experienced PMs give me conflicting answers. If I'm in wraith/lich form will I be immune to instant death effects like finger of death and such?

for the most part no. In form you are immune to insta death and negative levels, but for those times when your out of form is't a good idea to have something as a back up.

Danke. fitting deathblock on in a couple levels wont be an issue (at 14 I can add it to my level 12 mournlode docent with a masterful craftsmanship upgrade), but for the next few levels things will be tight with the gear I have available. I dont like running around without it, but at least I wont feel quite so vulnerable now.

You won't need a deathblock item when you're in form, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to keep a deathblock item or deathward clicky in your backpack for the few times when you need to be out of form in an area where enemies throw spells that would be stopped by those.

The only thing I can think of that a PM in form MIGHT not be immune to is a Vorpal attack. Someone would have to confirm whether they are immune or not.

Vampires, at one point (not sure about post-u9), were able to be Vorpal'ed as they do need their head to survive, unlike other undead.

I'm fairly sure they are immune to vorpal. At least, my pm has never died from it in form.

I've never died to vorpal while in a pale master form.

Outside of leveling (when I didn't have PM enhancements or wasn't in form), I've never had a need for Deathblock. At 20, there's really no reason not to be in lich form all the time.

    Ewww. How does THAT work?

Nevermind. I really don't want to know.

I keep a deathblock robe around for when I need it, since I won't be wearing my robe of shadow anyways when out of form. There are fairly few times I am out of form though, such as raids which need fast healing, etc.

When you are geared and lvl 20 you will probably be 99.99% in form so deathblock isnt an issue, i can see that 0.01% if bruteforcing epic MA lightning floor, even with maxxed absorb i'd still prefer to prey upon the mass heals (but in that specific phase you don't need DB), so all in all i think you can safely ditch the deathblock on a PM (if you are still gearing up you might consider dropping form in eDQ2 so keep fortification and db handy for those times).

Yeah, you're good without deathblock until they decide to add mobs that cast Trap the Soul.

Note to Devs: Make mobs start casting Trap the Soul.

Under the current implementation, neither Death Ward nor Deathblock would block Trap the Soul. Nothing but high will saves, which would be astronomically high on epic.

in theory, you could be disrupted, and i'm fairly certain deathblock would prevent that.

so, at this time, the question is... do you PvP?
