Q: How does Turbine use PayPal™ preapprovals?
Turbine offers PayPal™ preapprovals through myaccount.turbine.com as means to pay for recurring subscriptions for Dungeons and Dragons Online, Lord of the Rings Online, and Asheron's Call.
Q: How does PayPal™ preapproval work?
PayPal™ preapprovals represent permission granted by you, the user, to allow Turbine to bill your PayPal™ account for recurring subscription fees. In doing so, you also authorize PayPal™ to allow Turbine to charge your PayPal™ account.
PayPal™ preapprovals are explicit; meaning you must consent to the approval by logging into PayPal™ and confirming the transaction. During the checkout process on myaccount.turbine.com, you are redirected to PayPal™ to log into your account and confirm the approval.
PayPal™ preapprovals are limited to 1 year. PayPal™ preapproval amounts are based on how many active subscriptions you have.

Q: How do I cancel a preapproval?
You may remove any Turbine PayPal™ preapprovals in the following ways:
a. Log into http://myaccount.turbine.com. Click on 'Payment method' at the top. Enter a credit card instead of PayPal™ preapproval. The PayPal™ preapproval will no longer be used by Turbine. All subscription invoices will be applied to the credit card.
b. Log into http://myaccount.turbine.com. Cancel each active subscription.
c. Log into your PayPal™ account and cancel the preapproval for the Turbine merchant.
Q. Will you charge me for the full amount of my preapproval if I cancel early?
No. Billing stops the moment you cancel the preapproval in your PayPal™ account, or if you cancel all subscriptions. You will never be billed the amount of your preapproval due to cancelation.
Q. How long does the PayPal™ preapproval last?
PayPal™preapproval lasts one year.
Q. I got approved for one year and canceled. Now I am reactivating my account. Why do I have to get a new approval, even though I’m still within the one year?
Any time you cancel your subscriptions, or the payment fails, and you reactivate, you will have to get a new PayPal™ preapproval. Your new preapproval completely overwrites your previous, and you will not have to renew again for another year if the account remains active.
Q. Can I use both a credit card and PayPal™ at the same time?
No. At current time you can only have a credit card or PayPal™ associated as the payment method for subscriptions. All subscriptions purchases in game will be made to which ever payment you recently updated to your account. Your PayPal™ account through the DDO Store will not be affected by your PayPal™ account tied to your subscription. Adding a credit card on file for subscription at my.account.turbine.com will also not affect your ability to purchase Turbine Points with your PayPal™ account associated with the DDO Store, though it will add the card for optional use.
Q. Can I revert back to a credit card if I want to?
Yes. You can log into myaccount.turbine.com, select 'Payment Method' and choose a credit card as a payment method for your active subscriptions. Please note that updating to a credit card from mayccount.turbine.com will also update your payment method for Turbine Points in game.
Q: My payment to Turbine was declined. Why would my payment be declined?
Check your email account for an email from PayPal™. In most cases, PayPal™ will furnish you with an email explanation of why it was declined. A decline in billing could happen for a number of reasons:
a. The PayPal™ preapproval expired.
b. The payment would have exceeded the PayPal™ preapproval maximum limit if the payment went through.
c. You cancelled the preapproval from within your PayPal™ account.
