    Default Schemes solo

I occasionally like to try out a quest solo (melee with hireling, so not exactly solo) so I can take my time and figure it out. I'm wondering though, if Schemes of the enemy is soloable. From the wiki it sounds like you can drop the force field in 2 ways - brute force or solve the puzzle. The brute force method requires spellcasting or ranging as you cannot get close to the power relays to beat on them. The puzzle method seems to require 2 people - I tried getting my hireling to pull the upper wheel while I was at the lower, but lost focus each time.

Has anyone done this? Is there a secret to keeping focus on an object far away while interacting with one close by? I know I have done something similar in Delera's and one of the Necro 3 quests.

You do not have to range the crystals, just climb up the ladder and smack away. I was able to solve the puzzle with 2 hirelings (one gold seal) up top and me down below.

Bring a stack of Prismatic Ray scrolls with you and you won't need to solve the puzzle. End fight would be challenging to solo, however.

You used to be able to melee them. That changed in u13, I'm guessing because being able to Void Strike them as a monk was considered "too strong".

You're doing it backwards. You should be the one on the upper wheel, and keep the hireling down below.

Turn on air elevator. You go up. Go to other wheel, turn wheel. Call Hireling (who will teleport to you), go to third wheel, have hireling turn second wheel.

Then you can do the other two wheels and the two levers yourself.
Kobold sentient jewel still hate you.
