Default Fill the healing gap for non-UMD melees

For melees, and some casters, without UMD, there are basically two choices for self-healing without a hireling: CSW pots, and Silver Flame pots.

The difference of effectiveness and efficiency between these two sources is huge. Silver Flame aren't easy to get, so many players are stuck with CSW pots.

My suggestion is simple: make potions of Cure Critical Wounds and Heal drop in chests, much like Mnem pots do. Perhaps give them a high CL, too.

While you're at it, consider potions of FoM, Deathward, Restoration, etc.

Aye, then remove paladins and rangers from the game: their DPS is not stellar but they can compensate with great self-healing abilities if built right. If a barbarian could self-heal that well then what would be the reason of those 2 classes?

Silver flame pots are really powerful and they are not that hard to get.

And the reward then, for building a lower dps character that could cast these spells then, would be... ?

Agree with the previous two posters.

No build should be able to do everything exceptionally. When character building, it's all about trade offs, and that's on of the things that I love about DDO, is that there are so many flavour of characters.

If you want to be able to self heal, well then, you'll have to build for it. If you want to be pack every possibly DPS into your build that you possibly can, well then, build for that. But don't complain that there's no way to heal yourself, there are plenty of ways to heal yourself, you just chose not to have any of them in favour of other benefits.

absolutely not. Those melee toons made sacrifices to have that UMD heal ability.

Silver Flame pots could use having the penalties removed, perhaps via further favor and also allow us to stack them to 100. Other than that, I think Silver Flame potions are a fine source of healing for non-UMD melee.

Allow us to stack them to 100 like other potions would be great, but i think penalties should stay.
