    Question Summon spell speed

    Hi there

    I have a simple question:

On my toon, currently sorc 5 / cleric 1 / rogue 1, each time I summon a celestial dog from cleric lvl 1 spells, it takes about 3 seconds.

However, I remember pretty well the time my toon was sorc 1 / cleric 1, the same exact celestial dog used to take only a second to cast, very very faster than she currently does.

Why is that? What affects summoning spells speed?

    Thank you.

Are you getting the spell from the Cleric spell tab or Sorc spell tab?

The celestial dog is a cleric spell, for this ton.
The same spell on 1st lvl was very fast to cast. But now, the same spell, from the same toolbar, from the same cleric spell list, is 3 times slower to cast.

    Thank you.

A sorcerer-based spell will cast in half the time as a standard spell will. This sorcerer-based spell speed will also increase other spell speed bonuses such as Metamagic Quicken Spell.

Casting via the cleric version of the spell will make it take the usual amount of time.

Did you have the quicken spell feat and swap it out? Also, spells look like they are slowed while moving if you don't have Quicken Spell or Mobile Spellcasting.

    This is also true.

I think you are not getting the point here. What you say makes sense, but.....

I'm talking about a spell that I always cast from cleric spell list. I did cast this cleric spell very fast some levels ago. It feels I must have been using some trinket that boosted some spell-related ability or skill. But I don't know what.

I say again: the celestial dog spell I have is a cleric spell. I never had the celestial dog from sorc spell list; as I wanted this way (to avoid duplicate spells).

And no, I don't have any metamagic active (the only metamagic I have is Maximize, wich is always off most of the time). And I'm talking about casting while standing still.

Dunno why it was going fast before then, because if your casting it as a cleric, it will be slow. Sorcerers get faster casting time on their spells.

Ok I have found the answer to this, so I must post it here (so you all know what was going on, and maybe to other players help too, with the similar questions).

Your tips did helped me finding out. It happens that before I have this elf as she is now, I had another with the same name, and the summon monter 1 spell I got that time, was the sorc version. As she didn't had too much WIS for the cleric spells, I deleted that toon and remade her from scratch with a few changed on her abilities. When I got the summon monter 1 spell this 2nd time, was the cleric version, as I didn't want to have duplicate spells.

I did forgot that when I casted the fast spell was really in the 1st, now deleted toon, and not my current one.

So thanks all for the help
