Solo Elite Sins of Attrition post-U13 changes lvl 18 Melee brute-style

Okay before we begin, I am perfectly aware that this quest has been soloed on elite by a melee brute-style in the past.

However, I'm pretty sure that it hasn't been soloed as quickly on a lvl 18 character and with the post U13 changes for sneak attacks and crits to bypass fort.

This was all an unintentional result of the game making me angry. After failing 4 times to get my favor with a hireling due to the devils randomly switching aggro from me to the FvS, I decided... screw it. Bought myself 150 SF pots and soloed the entire thing brute style.

61 SF pots and 25 minutes later, Cenodoxus was dead. Why him? Because I'm a big red half-orc and that's just how I roll.













Screenies are actually from the 2nd run I did without dead hirelings... just to prove that I could do it. Ship buffs are there, but didn't really need them. I don't get my skills from an airship. I just like to min/max.

And to prove something else: The changes to let monsters SA and crit 100% fort chars are NOTHING to be afraid of! I just increase my threshold for heals so that even if all 15 devils and orthons spiked me with crits at the same time, I could still survive.

A dedicated DPS build can still tank post U13 elites/epics with no problems.

Melees' still got it even after all these years.

For next TR, you could get yourself a Cannith Fabricator set for +25% Fort and the other nice benefits of that easy-to-get set(Str6, Res5, Melee Alacrity+10(if haste runs out mid devil fight), Balance15(meh, unless gets tripped), +2hit/dmg, Proc +4Str/+4Con). I love my sets of those even more after the change.

Omniscience (ring from hard+ vod) has exceptionnal fort as well, it can be another way to achieve over-heavy-fort

Omniscience is not an option for elite sins unless you do a favor run... (ML 20)

sustaining symbiote is an option as well as the cove item for 10% exceptional fort.

But... this is your second successful run on elite so you already had the favor! Was your first time too embarrassing to post?

No, it wasn't too embarrassing. But I had dead hirelings on the screen and panther kills in the score sheet. It could look like I cheated using the hireling that way.

I decided to do a clean run afterwards to show that it can be soloed without dying. I think I accidentally weakened Cenodoxus but the devil fight to the side wasn't labeled as an optional. Am sure I could have defeated him even without the weakness anyway.

Well aware of those +fort% items, but they honestly couldn't fit into my build anyway. Every gear slot has been tweaked to its full potential to boost DPS (except for the kyosho ring. 80 runs and STILL haven't seen it!). I don't think they would help anyway. I think those people who say it works like the Opportunist feat are right and that no amount of fort would be able to block the mobs' SA and crits. It just feels completely bugged to me.

Cenodoxus is really easy weakened or not...not weakened, there's just a few adds in the end fight. I'd say he's only a little harder than the ham.

Nice run, though. I don't think I've seen this brute-forced solo at level 18 at all.

As the OP said it's not that bad anyway, just heal a little more often instead of waiting to fall to very low hp to heal yourself
