    I like the build name...but...

Tazmanian Devil makes me think SPEED AND CRAZY...

so I would say dump the attack boost line and get haste boost, and get orchish fury in there somewhere, because the more angry the Taz devil gets the faster and stronger he gets...

Also you are taking TWF but greataxe specialization...that doesnt make sense to me, you should be taking kopesh or bastard sword special...
I feel at home in the darkness, when its just me and my blades...when the hunter takes over!

TWF should have been 2hf because I already have a great sellection of great axes. Tazmanian devil because of the cleave and whirlwind attack. Perhaps you will like this one better with the rage and barbarian sprint boost.

I already have the gear from this life for the traps and evasion robes so I will most likely do a variation of this. I loose one attack bonus this way but gain 4 hp and a few points in my saves. I used that first build to see how much I would sacrifice to do the evasion splash but though why not throw in the frenzied bazerker, after all this is only to get a fighter past life. I think I like it. I still may toy with a 18fighter/2 rogue and see how it looks but I think this is the one.

If THF'ing you dont' need 15 dex, dump it to 8 or so and max out strength and con.

Whirlwind is unfortunately terrible; not worth the 5-feat cost and definitely not worth sacrificing Kensai II on your second build.

I agree on dumping those extra points out of dex. I say put them into con (or maybe a little into int if you feel the need). You may want to switch out spring attack for another toughness and change whirlwind to gthf

How long is the cooldown on whirlwind? It apears to be the same as supream cleave other than the 10 hp you dont take and supream cleave rocks! Now if it has a long cooldown mayby it is a waste but when chasing mobs spring attack isnt a bad thing to have so really only a waste of 3 feats. Now what makes kinsai II and III so good? Some mostly useless skill points (for this build) and a little to hit which I make up for some with spring attack (I hardly ever stand still) Or am I missing something about kinsai?

And dumping my dex would make my reflex/evasion= fail. I'll keep those points if I do the evasion thing. Now on the first build I will play with that a little see if I like anything.

Why is that build called tasmanian devil there is no spinning involved and only one level of barbaran hardly qualifies for raging. That is just the plain old cookie cutter twf kopesh xploiter build. Good build but not what I am looking for.

I designed the build mostly to get a fighter life that was going to play and get equiped as close as possible to my current barbarian life. I have always wanted to give wirlwind a try and "wirlwind attack is not worth the 5 feats it cost" or any other form of wirlwind sux is not going to deter me without some spacific reasons or at least the knowledge of how long it's cooldown is. Otherwse I am just going to asume you don't like it's description and have really never tried it, therefore you really don't know. Now I would like some good "experianced" objections if it is truely that bad of an idea, I would rather not waiste a build for it to be gimped. Now keeping in mind that the intent is a spinning blade of destruction, are there any changes anyone would make to keep it at that.

I don't think debating the use of the name or the attributes of your build vs his to a saturday morning cartoon character, is really relevant to your build. If you wanna call it 'The Tasmanian Devil' do it. If you wanna call it 'The Bruce Willis', sure whatever. It doesn't matter, as long as you understand what the build is by the name. But, if you wanted to set a paradigm with a new named build, it's too late.

All of their advice appears to be correct when working towards the effectiveness of the toon during his 'fighter life'. You really need to ask yourself some questions though. Is this a flavor build or do you want a highly effective dps that can gear the same way as your barbarian did? If it's a flavor, take the whirlwind and be happy. Spin up and down the Gainthold. Screen Capture yourself whirlwinding Harry, and then another cap of you doing a follow up victory dance while the well built DPS take down Harry.

Whirlwind takes the following to purchase, just so we understand the character build resources you have to use to get it:

    Whirlwind Attack: 1 Feat
    Spring Attack: 1 Feat
    Mobility: 1 Feat
    Dodge: 1 Feat
Combat Expertise: 1 Feat and 4 Ability points

And what does that get you with your current build?
1 attack (which comes with a cool down), against all the targets immediately around you. Essentially a very weak AoE (Unless you plan on wielding an Epic Sword of Shadows at 20, but even then, kind of **** since you won't be using Whirlwind to run epic content). But as your planning out Greataxes, not Greatswords, you've given up five feats for a situational clicky which will give you a lower level AoE. If that doesn't make sense to you, or it doesn't seem like a good enough reason not to take it, I don't know what to say. It might also get you some UMD, but you took the trapping instead, which after about level 7 you won't be doing anymore because you're going to blow boxes and ruin party XP. You also took swim and no intimidate (why chase them down when you can make them come to you). Also, Kensai Weapon Specialization is going to be well worth it for the additional crit modifier Kensai III is worth it for the additional uses of the +8 Strength clicky.

What can you buy with those points to make the toon more effective, especially if you splash two classes and lose out on 4 more feats?
Greater Weapon Specialization: +2 Damage per hit
    More Toughness
Greater Weapon Focus: +1 to hit
Superior Weapon Focus: +1 to hit
    More Toughness
    Stunning Blow: Incapacitated enemys
Improved Sunder: Easier to kill bosses
    Moar Toughness
Past Life: Beserker's Fury: More hitpoints and a rage
    m04r t0u6hn3ss

These guys are trying to help you get through your fighter life, after all you requested it, and your getting a little testy because someone else used the name and your idea for a build is more flavor than useful. Believe me, I know the feeling when you think something out and then it turns out your build isn't practical or there is a better build.

The cooldown for Cleave, Great Cleave, and Whirlwind are 6 secs ea. [GC & Whirlwind originally were longer, but they got shortened 2 years ago.]

So I took advantage of Vet Status II to make a test build (human monk 4 / ftr 2) w/Whirlwind & Great Cleave. And I have to admit, it does look cool to spam Cleave, GC, & Whirlwind in rapid succession. But the problem is the opportunity cost associated with Whirlwind; both the loss of DPS from using, as Nubicus says, a weak AoE and the feats I had to skip in order to squeeze in Whirlwind by lvl 6 - I didn't take Toughness or any tactics or THF feats. Dodge, Mobility, and Spring Atk are all weak feats which add little to a non-Tempest or non-S&B tank.

OTOH, if this is just to get a ftr PL rather than an endame-worthy build, there's more room for creativity, IMHO. So I messed around with the builder to see what I could come up with...

My first idea is a pure ftr who goes SD instead of Kensai; tanks can afford to give up some DPS if they make up for it in other ways. It makes a bit more sense to have Cleave/GC/WA for drawing mob aggro on a hate-tank like this. Plus Dodge, Mobility, and Combat Expertise are pretty nice to have on an AC tank. [Spring Atk is still basically unnecessary, though.] It feels really weird to make a pure ftr w/out some or all of the WF/WS/GWS/GWF/SWF feat chain, though.

It's also possible to do a 32-pt version who starts CON 14 and uses +1 DEX & INT tomes instead for meeting feat pre-reqs.

My second build is like your 2nd build but a lot more conventional: i.e., rogue 2 / barb 6 / ftr 12 who takes Great Cleave (since you need Cleave for FB I anyway, it's only 1 more feat), but takes extra tactics & DPS feats rather than D/M/SA/WA chain. Having one extra AoE attack isn't worth 4 feats on such a build; Cleave & GC should suffice for that flavor.

Thank you Unbongwah. You actually get what I am after. I do definately like the tanking posibilities with the pure fighter build though I doubt I will stay at level 20 for very long at all I am tempted to test that build. A 6 second cooldown is a little longer than I had hoped for with supreme cleave having such a short cooldown. Now something Nubicus said makes me wonder. Does wirlwind actually get you airborn? If so I am definately sticking with it that sounds super fun!!

However with the 6 second cooldown and if wirlwind is as I suspected and keeps you on the ground, then your second build looks good with a little cc built into it. That is actually real close to what my 2nd choice was going to be. A cleave based beater, only I had thought of trying to max trip/stun as best I could vs your sunder/hamsting.

And yes I guess you would call it a flavor build if that is what you wish to call it. I call it a build that sounds fun to play to get a past life out of the way. I am a good enough gamer I dont have to have a maxed toon to get to level 20. Trust me, I have gotten my share of gimped toons there. I play to have fun so I don't care if the elitist refuse to play with me because they dont like my build. I dont like to play with them because they are way too high stress analitical busy bees who turn the game more into work than play. I have a great group of friends and guild who would play with me if I built a 5 wiz/1monk/1rogue/5 fighter/3 ranger/2cleric because they would know I was controlling it. Perhaps I could have been a little more clear about my intentions in my origional posting. Either way I got some feed back and some info to take back to the drawing board. Thanks.
