Default 18-2 build or pure FB3

Ok this is really an adendum to my earlier question about lit 2's. I tr'd my first life twf kensai 3 pure fighter into a barb.
List of things I already have for lvl 20
    ESOS
    E Claw set
    FB set(eceptioal str +2)
    Shintao set( healing amp)
    E chain
    Madstone
    EAGA
    45hp cloak

My question is this: Should I do a level 20 fb3 or an 18-2 barb/fighter fb3. This is my first tr and its 34 points. Can someone tell me the exact advantages and disadvantages to both? Thank you in advance. I am already lvl 6 and working on 7. If I take 2 fighter lvls when should I take them and what should I do with them?
    Characters:
5th Life Human Paladin - Sorrowanddoo
11th Life Sun Elf Wizard - Sorrowandei
3rd Life Human Fighter - Sorrowandai

Depends on what you want; when you go 2 lvls of fighter you get some extra feats for tactics (at a loss of strength and con and some extra glancing blow damage). Really a matter of preference; do you want to do slightly more damage or do you want to be better at 'crowd' control? I'd probably opt for the second (18brb/2ftr), since it's more fun.

Feats you really want for a THF melee are: THF, ITHF, GTHF, Power Attack, Toughness, Improved Critical
A feat you really really want for a barb is: Cleave (to unlock FB)

If you want any other feats (Improved Sunder, Stunning Blow, Sap, whatever), go human or 18/2 (or both). You can't use Fighter Haste Boost at the same time as Barbarian Damage Boost, so it does not provide much DPS increase.

People with a barb past life often go 18/2 to get the barb past life feat.
Wherever you went - here you are.

You can just use it in place of toughness.

Just go pure if you want max DPS.

Go 18|2 if you want stunning blow + another feat (improved sunder).

    Pure for max DPS.

Your extra feat can either be Stunning Blow (ultimate quest trash DPS) or Toughness (be a great raid tank). Personally, I kill everything easily already and an ability than can only be used once every 12 seconds to stun 1 mob is kind of weak when you get Trip for free. Replace Toughness with Past Life: Berserker's Fury ASAP. Superior feat all around.

18 barb / 2 fighter for high DPS and super raid tank.

Your extra feats will be Toughness or PL: Berserker's Fury (if you have access to that), Stunning Blow, and Shield Mastery. When tanking raidbosses, I would use a Heavy Pick with your shield for max 1-handed DPS. Some people prefer khopeshes and some prefer bastard swords. Dwarven Axe if you're a dwarf.

Neither choice is wrong. It's all personal preference and both can work flawlessly. I just prefer min/maxing gimmicked characters.
Khyber: Iqus Tres (Half-Orc Barbarian 20 / Epic 5 / Legendary Dreadnought 5), Ixupi (Drow Sorcerer 20), Outlake (Warforged 7 Monk-in-progress), Petroglyph (Warforged Artificer 16)

I've completed 150 raids each on a WF 20 Barbarian and a Horc 18 Barbarian/2 Fighter. The 2 Fighter splash is totally worth the loss of the capstone for the Haste Boost and two additional feats:

    Power Attack
    THF
    ITHF
    GTHF
    Improved Critical: Slashing
    Cleave
    Toughness/Past Life: Berserker's Fury
    Improved Sunder
    Stunning Blow
    Khyber: Ying-1, Kobeyashi, Nichevo-1 | 75 million Reaper XP

I just came across this thread and was wondering what people's thoughts are as to the best time to take the fighter levels on a Barbarian 18 / Fighter 2?

Hard to say but I'd prolly do it after 17. Once you get that tireless rage it can be addicting.

Actually good point, and as the biggest jump in DPS comes form Tier 3 of the Barbarian Prestige it does seem that taking the fighter levels last would be a good idea.

Anyone see any possible negatives with this idea?

    http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php...73#post3548473

    Level Progression:
    1 - Barbarian
    2 - Fighter
3 - Barbarian (Just so you don't have an ugly fighter icon and so you get stronger rages to compound onto your past life rage hehe)
    4 - Fighter
    5 and onwards - Barbarian

    Feats:
    1 - Two Handed Fighting
2 - Fighter Bonus Feat: Power Attack
    3 - Past Life: Barbarian
4 - Fighter Bonus Feat: Stunning Blow
    6 - Cleave
    9 - Improved critical: Slashing
12 - Improved Two Handed Fighting
15 - Greater Two Handed Fighting
    18 - Toughness

However, I am not quite certain this order is best for a first life toon, as there is (sadly) no Past Life Feat available. Consequently, I am still considering taking the Fighter levels last and getting my Improved Sunder and Toughness Feats at 19 and 20 respectively....

When planning keep in mind that you cannot take Toughness as a fighter feat.

Ouch, thanks for pointing that out. I guess I will have to take Toughness at level 18, and then take Greater Two Handed Fighting and Improved Sunder for my fighter feats at levels 19 and 20 respectively.....

I have been considering TRing my Barb to 18/2 soon as well. Instead of taking stunning blow I have considered shield mastery for a bit more tanking ability. The long cool down of stunning blow makes it unappealing to me. Whats every ones thoughts on this?

It's not that useful to hold a shield on a barb for tanking purposes, unless you somehow manage to have high intim. The damage output with a shield is on the low side for tanking properly, and you will likely lose aggro..

In your case, I would probably stick with pure.
